Similar to the Volus shield (tech) in Lair of the Shadow Broker Liara uses her Stasis Bubble around her like a shield which is something i've always wanted to be able to do whenever i'm about to get a rocket to the face. Not really a new power as much as an extension - if you could use stasis bubble defensively as well it would be even better.

 

Pull, lash and throw, etc. should also apply to physics objects not just people - let us use the environment as a weapon.

 

Why not give melee orientated vanguards light and heavy melee attacks which act as Biotic detonators in addition to nova.

 

I'd also like a biotic (i.e reave) version of poison strike which not only deals damage over time and slowly replenishes your barrier but primes multiple targets for biotic explosions like reave does... so you'd leave a trail of primed mooks in your wake for your adept teammates to explode while you get out of dodge.

I'd like an evolution of Throw and/or Pull that would let you knock enemies' weapons out of their hands. Enemy goon has shields up? Yank his gun away. Enemy goon behind cover but his gun is sticking out? Yank. That. ****.

An area of effect ability that unleashes gravitational waves using you as a human black hole which draws in enemies, crates, etc.

This ability will immobilize or stun enemies, drain their health, pull them towards you, and best of all can be charged for longer ability duration, increased damage output, and upon fully charged your character does this XGHDP2n.jpg which results in an explosion of biotic power which depending on the tier will kill or gravely maim a number of enemies. At higher levels it could also act as a shield preventing damage also a force choke dialogue option would be cool.

Refraction. As long as the power is active, you cannot move (but can attack) and your barrier slowly and continuously depletes, but damage resistance is increased to 95% as attacks almost-harmlessly bounce off.

 

Branching evos:

 

Reflection. You still cannot move, and your barrier continuously depletes more rapidly than before, but enemy attacks that hit you no longer deal damage and are deflected back at them for 100% damage.

 

Mobile Refraction: Damage resistance is decreased to 75% but you regain the ability to move normally, albeit at 50% speed.

Believe you me, I have had plenty to say about those 'powers'.

Throw, shock-wave, flare?  I'm fairly irritated by the powers that don't seem to fit biotics, but those seem pretty solid too me.  What's your beef with them.  Don't get me wrong things like reeve or dominate are lame but throwing people is pretty basic, shockwave is just a wave of lifts, reeve seems like just a souped up warp.

Actually Shockwave is a mixture of Throw & Lift.

I think the idea of Gravitic Ring from DA2 would translate pretty easily to biotics for obvious reasons.

But Timestop from NWN and Za Warudo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are much more fun and dramatic. I don't know if you could technically get away with justifying such an effect through use of the Mass Effect, though.

But I don't think BW really bothers keeping their gameplay more than tenuously lore appropriate anyway, for what it's worth.

I've always found it cool how Samara can levitate herself, glide along and control her decent using biotics - i'd like a new biotic movement style similar to turian jet boots which includes vertical lift if you hold down A/X.

 

Imagine being able to ascend to the rafters before biotic charging vertically onto targets like a blue hammer smashing them into the ground.

Many asari can do that, since biotics come naturally to them without implants. Practice makes perfect. Tela Vasir could do it, so could Falere (reasonably) and Liara (somewhat).

 

I'm sure Niftu Cal could manage it as well.

How about an 'Accretion Disk' upgrade to singularity as an alternative to Lift Damage? The friction of the air falling into the black hole heats it, and causes constant fire damage to anything caught in its radius. Enemies could continue to take burning damage and suffer panic after the singularity fades.

I really like the earlier ideas of using parts of the environment though. It's a long time since I played the games, but was there any way besides singularity to make trap areas? Like a burning, or electrified surface that enemies could wander into? They might be more appropriate for engineers though.

I'm thinking some sort of field that slows (slow field?) enemies by 25-50% across a 5 meter radius.  Would be great for Vanguards before using biotic charge to zip in for melee kills.

 

Also agree with others on a biotic jumping ability to use in lieu of jetpacks.

And how do you apply pressure to said fields? Its one thing to increase or decrease mass, that fits with the lore, and yet you are talking about having a encompassing field apply physical mass in akin to a stasis field except not passive. It isn't the force, it has set limitations and those revolve around the fact it is using mass effect fields which can only increase or decrease mass, nothing more.

 

The lore about Biotics is rather vague and it allows for lateral thrust / pressure, examples would be throw / push and charge.

 

Enveloping a target in opposing fields of pressure sounds complicated, but certainly doable considering what we know about biotics and their applications. (and no, I'm not referring to nonsense powers like Dominate or the vampire-like Reave, rather to throw, warp, stasis, and singularity)

 

 

That said, I enjoy very much the lore in games that combine magic and technology, like Shadowrun and WH40K, so as far as I am concerned

they could have just went with some kind of magic instead of biotics.

Actually Shockwave is a mixture of Throw & Lift.

I prefer throw (ME1 version) to either. Sending a group of people flying into a wall simultaneously is the best.

Yeah, the curving projectiles for throw are kind of goofy...

 

A "projectile" makes more sense for certain powers, like flare for example, where you are throwing a ball of unstable energy that explodes when it hits something.

"Levitate," should definitely be a power for the Adept class, maybe as a kind of dodge and travel move.

Pull sure needs an overhaul. Should be merged with Lash and Slam into one power with different options.

ME games did not have charge up powers (hold button to charge) so far, something like Flare or Dark Sphere with charge up would be nice.

Biotic Protector was pretty useless in ME3, maybe in MEA it could be evoled in something worth spending points on

The ability to hurl objects would be fun.

 

If you want something flashy, just shamelessly copy the force lightning give it a new name like biotic storm.

Something that continuously drains your mana biotic energy.

 

 

Actually many of the old powers could be more fun if they just renew the effects and damage physics.
