So think they will come up with a party banter system that is not crap for DA4?

Like others have said, the idea and premise of the banter system is cool but the execution left a lot to be desired.

In the Hinterlands I actually got quite a few banter with Cass, Solas and Varric in the beginning, but as the game progressed and I explored the other maps, it was nothing but silence, even with all the different party combinations. I also got the annoying situation where companions would start talking just as we were about to enter a fight. They really need to work on that, so banter doesn't trigger when there's enemies around.
Also, I really like the idea of the interactive banter, I feel like this could be a great way to develop our relationship with the companions. Too bad I only got it once. Hopefully DA4 will improve on this too.
I would enter a fight as banter was ongoing and as we were fighting.. they continued to finish it. I felt like, "aww man, I missed it after so long of a wait."
The interactive banter was awesome. It really felt good to dip in the conversations even with a one liner.

That's why I leave captions on.

I actually think they reduced it a bit in the last patch and I get banter between 10-15 minutes depending on the party setup. Cole, Dorian, and Cassandra seem particularly chatty for some reason. If I switch Cassandra for Varric, there is a longer period between conversation.
The idea was interesting, but the implementation was poor. Players continue to experience problems even after all this time, which is bad.
I think it would have been a better idea to have the system be as it was, with the addition of one or two out-of-the-way (that is, away from any other NPCs) banter trigger points at some location on each map. That way, you still have the natural aspect of random conversation while exploring the world, but also a way to hear everything if you need/want to. I think this was particularly important in DAI as the banter showed evolving relationships among the followers. Not just the optional romance between Dorian and Iron Bull, but friendships and rivalries like those between Cassandra and Cole, or Solas and Sera respectively.
Do Solas & Sera have a relationship that evolves? I think I may have seen the beginnings of it in one of my PTs, but I rarely put them in the same party when I traveled, so I may not have seen it flesh out.
Love both characters, but I used each for different parties (and Solas was pretty much perpetually with me for all main story quests).

They don't really have a relationship to begin with (unless casual rivalry is a relationship), so I would say no. They do have some lighter banter outside of all the elfy stuff though

I was referring to their antagonistic or rivalry relationship, which is why I said, "... but friendships and rivalries like those between Cassandra and Cole, or Solas and Sera respectively."
A relationship is how two people interact with each other, and not necessarily in a positive way.

DAI had a somewhat bad system , before you had places triggering banters + banters often occured in non combat zone ,or when it triggered in combat zone like the wounded coast , it was in place where there was nothing to fight when you enter the map for example.
Now in DAI banters mostly occured in combat zone and it was on a timer that could be interrupted or reset numerous way and there's no more difference between party banters and companions making comments about the scenery. Those are all on the same timer. So in theory you're supposed to get someone talking every 15 minutes but if you're lucky you get one banter and "ooh the grass is green here "comment per hour.
On top of it , it's rare to meet a talkative NPC in the DAI areas so yeah...
I felt like there was a problem when I had to spend 4 hours talking to everyone in Skyhold after an important mission and then I went into the wilderness and 4 hours of silence followed.

Trespasser added little glowing points where you could initiate party banter. Just do more of that.

it works fine in my game, maybe a higher frequency could be better

In DA:O and DA2 I made sure to hear all possible banter, and it was great. In DA:I, despite two full playthroughs involving many, many hours there was literally hours of banter I never got to listen to, and that was not great. I know which scenario I prefer.
