So I was right. You do have to pay EA as a workaround. And I wouldn't be surprised is this bug was implemented on purpose by EA.

The issue still persists today, I tried contacting EA via live chat, 20 minutes later and no response, I had them call me. After 10 minutes of being put on hold after my issue, they told me I needed to buy Bioware points for the free DLC, I then said "but it says free, you know what I'll figure it out on my own" then hung up, they are never helpful. Even when I tried to purchase a season pass once, they weren't helpful.

I had this same issue. Went to download the "free" dlc, and required me to purchase a minimum of $5 in BioWare points. I had an EA customer service rep call me through here: http://help.ea.com/e...ontact-ea-help/  After a 15~ minute phone call, the rep was able to change something in my account that allowed me to download the DLCs without the bioware points bug. Issue resolved.

You can try playing MP without the DLC packs.  Have someone invite you to a Gold game on a vanilla map and carry you.  Pick up enough credits for a  pack.  Once you managed to buy something from the store, it might unlock the free DLCs.

I suggest you stalk Crash$uit and spam his inbox with friend requests.

Has anyone with such a problem tried to get the DLCs listed under your content via the Bioware site?

I was talking to support yesterday, and sadly it still brings up the the menu to buy Bioware points when you try and buy it. They did mention that a fix is currently being worked on.

Use my origin update bypass trick, never have to update again, it's in the resource guide

No its a problem with origin not the game. It has to do with entitlements.

Hi All,

I had this issue myself. I resolved it by opening Mass Effect 3, closing it, and then quitting and restarting Origin. Once I restarted Origin, I was able to get through without any issues and wasn't prompted to buy BioWare points.

Hope this helps anyone who finds this after I did.
