I'm currently playing a renegade run of ME2 and killed all of the colonists on Feros.  I also killed Shiala, but I did save the Exogeni guy who was losing it with the scientists.

Now I've got to Illium in ME2 one of the colonists is sitting by the Transport hub and talked to me, but she thanked me for saving the colonists and told me they're doing well.  I also got the paragon version of the letter from Lizbeth Baynham that you get when you save the colonists, not the one where she feels guilty for killing them.

I've done a run previously where I killed the Colonists but saved Shiala, and that one was fine.  Correct letter and dialogue from Shiala on Illium.  Is there a bug in the import?  Is it because Shiala is dead this time?  Why would everyone assume I saved Feros when I was a monster over there?

Just wanted to know if other people have experienced this, I can't find anything about it online and it's kinda annoying to be thanked for saving a colony I massacred.

I did everything the same on Feros and yes, I also got wrong letter and was thanked for saving the colonists

Personally, I think it might be connected to Shiala not being the one you meet. Poor new representative doesn't know the truth  :bandit:

Thank you.  :)   I'm gonna reload and just walk past her then, better than having a very awkward conversation.

I assume it works fine if Shiala is alive....the new woman must have been indoctrinated, poor pet.   :o

Not sure if it's connected, but I did a Paragon playthrough and before even talking to Shiala I get an email from Lizbeth thanking me for helping again, so if I ignore Shiala, the game still assumes I helped her with that Asari  at the Transport hub.

Yeah, I've played 3 times now and it's happened every time.  It seems that as soon as you walk by her the email is sent.  Better to walk up to her and do the quest right away before you get back to the Normandy so that it doesn't seem odd.

Or if you don't want to help just delete the email and pretend it didn't happen.

There are no significant consequences in the next game, that I can remember anyway, so at least these bugs won't adversely affect things going forward.  I hope.

On my perfect playthrough I did all the quests when I would encounter them, so I never noticed it, but this time I decided to just do the ones that affected ME3, so I was surprised by that email.
