I forgot people like you existed. Wow. But of course. Your internet level on this forum is higher than mine so therefore your opinion is automatically more correct. Next time you engage in conversation you might want to use something with actual substance. I don't have a funny video to link in reply, but if I did It'd probably include a fat man behind a keyboard that didn't shower in 2 months acting like an internet tough guy. If for some reason you misunderstand what that means, it means you.

dude it was just a joke.

maybe this is why you only have 2, no sense of humor

Dude, if it was a joke it did not come across as one. Regardless of sense of humor you're the one who posted it so you're responsible for how it can be interpreted. I don't know you, you don't know me. Internet has no means to display intent or facial expressions. If you're going to make a joke and wrap it as an insult (something I have no issue with) then perhaps you should also take into account that it can be misread. Next time add emotes. Prevents a whole lot of wasted time.

Are people actually still complaining about the ending? It wasn't even that bad. People just love to complain, because that means they can sit back and throw words without having to do anything themselves. On top of that BioWare released a new version of the ending that was much better than what they had originally.

Just play the game and enjoy it. It's one of the best RPG's ever made. Period.

Why shouldn't people discuss the ending to Mass Effect 3 still?

People still discuss books written centuries ago, is it really a surprise that some would like to discuss the really quite divisive ending to a great game series after just four years?

I guess I'll have to toss him a coupl more likes now.

It took me a little time to figure out how to to use Origin, but it's not all that hard. Hope this helps you.

I just run Origin games from desktop shortcuts. Origin still runs, but it's in the background and has nothing much to do with me.

In case everyone else didn't get the point across already, yes. You should play the trilogy. If you're into sci-fi, or RPG's, or action games, or action RPG's, or third-person shooters, or *AHEM* Bioware games, then you'll have an estimated 98.257% chance to love Mass Effect and every one of it's games.

Sure the ending is a thing, but the Extended Cut kind of uh... "fixed" it? So what is there to lose! Nothing. Nothing is the answer I was looking for.

Hold on! :) I did not say people shouldn't discuss it, but I was surprised people still complained about it. Some even compare it to the worst thing ever happening to them. It's all exaggeration if you ask me. Sure they could have done something more with the ending (and they did after fans complained en masse, talk about respecting your fanbase!). But the game series itself is awesome and regardless of ending is something worth playing.

Everyone uses hyperbole in conversation, it's usually the result of frustration I've found "I hit the thing a million times and it still didn't break."

We aren't writing an academic paper here, we are Bioware fans discussing their games. A little exaggeration is to be expected.

I know that, but if you want to give advice to someone it's different when you're saying "it could have been better" vs "I'd rather be raped by a dinosaur".

How about "As someone who has been a Bioware fan since the original Baldur's Gate games, and who still plays their games today, I cannot, in good conscience recommend the Mass Effect series.  But if you do decide to play it, I would do so with either MEHEM or John P's Alternate MEHEM mod at the ready"?

Edit:  What kind of dinosaur are we talking about here?   :P

op is long gone i presume, but asking the place where nerds (including me) are still playing the game 10 years after and talking everyday about it is not the best to have a weighed opinion :D

At the very least, play Mass Effect 2. That's the best game in the series, IMO.

Of course, it would be better to just get all three games and play through them sequentially, so you can benefit from save importing and get the full experience.

OP, I agree with Draining Dragon - except for the first comment. Play ME-1 first.

Unfortunately yes they are. These days I just ignore them now because I feel they're just complaining for the sake of complaining. Whilst in one way I do agree with them in that it's a weak ending it still made sense within the universe to me so as far as I'm concerned so I've accepted it and moved on. The game series in general is just too good to not take positives from it anyway. I also don't see Bioware repeating those mistakes. Personally all in all I think we can forgive Bioware for this one mistake so long as they do learn from it.

problem is though they'er still complaining and want BW to change it. We all know Biowaer have no such plans to do so now so we a kind of at an empasse on that. Dosen't bother me though because although I agree it is weak compared to the rest of the story it still makes sense to me.

So do I ME2 is the strongest of the trilogy in my opinion as well but it's best to play them all in order starting with ME1 and working your way through. Because this series is more about the journey you take rather than the destination at the end of it. Currently got a new playthrough on the go atm as well. Still in ME1 atm but then I'm mixing it in with other games I have on the go so it won't be a quick playthrough like some of my others have been.

Definitely give it a chance. I personally don't think the endings were that bad, the games are worth playing. Especially when you start from one till the third cause you'll get to see all your decisions play out through the three games and that's a lot of fun. A lot of replayability too.

No, do not play any of them. All three games are extremely bad, some of the worst games you will ever play. Story is really, really bad (writing is very weak, uninspired, boring and unengaging). The combat is absolutely horrible. Let's not even talk about the ending (in a way, the ending was suitable for this game; such a horrendous game only deserves a horrendous ending, so it was deemed fitting to end the game on such a poor note, Mass Effect gets top marks for consistency. It's consistently rubbish). The only good thing about the game is that they created a very interesting universe...but they did absolutely nothing else. Weak story, absolutely terrible story. It's all just very, very bad.

Sorry; while I disagree, ME2 is considered by some to be the best RPG of the decade. And while the ending probably should have received another look before release, it is an amazing story spanning over three games and DLC.
