Why is it in Mass Effect 1, our squadmates can be equipped with armor for battle, but when on the Normandy, they are in their fatigues, or casual outfit?? But in ME2 and ME3 they go into battle with barely anything on or any protection?

I hope for ME:A, to bring back the customization of our squadmates.

Well have to say i wasn't a fan of the armor looks in ME1

I  very much liked the iconic appearances in ME2. The alternate appearance packs that allowed those who wanted to armor up the likes of Miranda were a good idea though . Equally in Me3 there were several appearance options from memory.

ME3 actually was a lot closer to ME1 than ME2 when it came to armor design. All of the squadmates had proper armor. The only exceptions were that Liara and Javik didn't have helmets with their combat loadout. The only element ME3's armor design had in common with ME2 was that each squadmate's armor had a unique appearance rather than them all being a copy pasta of each other. I thought that was an improvement, personally. ME1 was a little boring in that regard.

My preference for ME:A would be squadmates once again all having armor that looks like it provides adequate protection, all with helmets that can be toggled on/off, and combat fatigues or civilian clothing for downtime aboard ship or ashore. Customization at least on par with Shepard's in ME3 or companions in DA:I would be great, but at the very least I'd be cool with a return of having two or three armor presets that you could choose for companions.

I always thought it was kinda silly that some of them could go out in a vacuum without having proper protection. I mean Liara basically had a lab coat with a mask on that didn't even cover the eyes.

I was cool with the lab coat because it had armor plates, but the breath masks annihilate suspension of disbelief.  I'd be happy if they disappeared from the series.

In combat or on hostile worlds, full coverage armor is the way to go. A breather mask isn't going to protect you if the atmosphere is chlorine gas.

On the ship or in a hub world, military fatigues, t-shirts, body paint, catsuits, etc. anything goes.

For customization, everyone's armor should be modular like the protagonist's armor, but fitting within a specific character's art style. Color customization should still be up to the player though.

If breather masks are going from hostile environments then i'd want some type of helmet with proper visibility of the characters faces available.

Can we see some more skin in the next game? Why is all the armors and casual clothes soooo covered up?? Is Normandy freezing cold inside? Don't have to be a bikini or a banana hammock, but something more.....relaxing.

That would be nice. In Halo 3: ODST the troopers' visors could be depolarized when their faces needed to be visible during cinematic scenes.

All she really needed is a full cover helmet.

It is silly, but I always like Liara's lab coat because it just kind of fit with her character. The mask never really bothered me but Liara was one of the few characters who actually didn't have a helmet.

From the concept art, we'll most likely be getting helmets like that at least as an option.

In Knights of the Old Republic, sometimes I ran to and attacked my enemies in my underwear, sometimes a simple robe, sometimes actual armor, and sometimes basic garments.

Just thinking out loud.

Bioware, if you're reading this, please give us more casual clothing choices for ourselves and our companions. I get that you want every squadmate to have his or her own look, but Tali was the only one who should've been wearing her suit the whole time. Both Thane and Miranda only ever had a few millimeters of cloth to protect themselves, and Jack literally didn't wear a shirt 90% of the time. How does that even make sense?

Mass Effect 1&3 had it right. Most people wore casual clothes on the Normandy. However, give us some choices for our squad mates. Not a ton, but enough to let players feel like that your squadmate actually changes clothes once in a while.
