...And the ones you think we should. Like your wish list, but specifically relating to unexplored story and character elements. Also, I'm not talking about just anything we haven't had. ME hasn't had a purple elephant for us to ride on, but pointing something like that out would not align with the spirit of the topic. This is for those things which you believe would fit the lore and benefit the story, and that would be completely new.

For my part:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've had much in the way of named Salarian antagonists. Unless you count Anoleis, which I don't.

We've also never had a human engineer class squadmate (Tali and Mordin were worth it, but I wouldn't say no to them changing up that trend).

I also don't think we ever had the option to actually throw an enemy out of the airlock, and I kind of want to pull an Ellen Ripley.

This.

An airlock interrupt would be so much fun.

Refer to thread "Why a human protagonist makes sense"

I have yet to see a good reason for human-only in that thread.

I did and it's called resources. And everyone wants their favorite species rendered which is just not possible.

I'm fine with a set human protagonist, but I think multiple playable species could be fun *if* it doesn't mean a lack of a cinematic focus in dialogue with NPCs and so long as the species choice has a significant impact on dialogue and story. I'm not confident Bioware can pull that off, but if hypothetically they could...more options is always a good thing.

Yes you have. You just ignore them because you want race selection more than you want a well made game.

Your post was full of inaccuracies, so no you didn't.

If they had an insane amount of resources they could. But they would have to make for each species own story threads and not to mention dialogs etc. But as it stands right now, even if they would add one other race that would just mean 2 half assed story threads and nothing complete.

No they would not have to make different stories. All of the species are in the same boat, literally and figuratively, so the story works for all of them.

So you want to tell me that you  would be just peachy if they just had different voices for each species and then have all the same stuff for all of them? I'm sorry but if they would decide to pick another race then I'd want to see different priorities and different motivations and most of all different interactions etc.

I would have like to progress in rank.  Not sure if that will even apply to the Andromeda story line though.

All the races have the same priority and motivation: to make a new home in Andromeda.

The interactions can be different. Bioware has done this numerous times.

But to the extend of a main character with tons and tons of dialog, and then do that like what 6 times or even more if you got female and male for each species. What publisher in their right mind would approve this?

And social interactions and simply the culture of each species would have to be specifically worked out, it's not just the same thing with another skin on top. And if they did it would be as convincing as caitlyn jenner

I'm replying to this in the other thread, since I don't want Lady Artifice's thread dominated by this.

There are a few things I can think of at the moment:
  • Text chat for multiplayer
  • Co-op campaign mode
  • Female turian squadmate
  • Female krogan squadmate
  • Male quarian squadmate
  • Batarian squadmate
  • Jumping
  • Space combat

No they haven't. Even in Origns, with a silent PC, race selection had no impact after the origin story. There were a few lines of throwaway dialogue here and there but none of it amounted to anything and your race choice was nothing more than choosing how big or small you wanted to be. Then in Inquisition your choice of race amounted to even less. Even when things should have been effected by your race(like sucking up the knowledge from the ancient elven fountain or forging an alliance with the Qunari) they weren't. The biggest impact your race had in Inquisition was possibly giving you a minor points disadvantage in the Orlesian ball, which was entirely negligible.

This is true

Race is treated as a cosmetic in most BW games... Hell TOR has it you can be pure blood sith... yet you're always at the bottom of the otem pole till you start murdering your way to the top.

or you can be a Miraluka Agent... Who are FORCE sensitive people who use it to see cause they have no eyes but that never comes up despite being in a regime that forcibly conscripts ALL force users.

DA tries with a few minor variations... Being a noble lets YOU marry Anora or being a Mage lets you fight/seduce the desire demon...

Thats what I want a Desire Demon/Space Succubus party member... that won't kill me like morinth!

This.

An airlock interrupt would be so much fun.

And depending on who we're doing it too, it could account for such a wide array of rp options.

I could dig it if we had that option during an actual combat scenario, where it's already life or death, especially if were fighting something huge and monstrous.

But I could also imagine a scene where it's just a minor villain threatening the protagonist with retribution at a later date. They're in the middle of a monologue about how no one crosses them, how they can find the protagonist anywhere, how they'll take away everything and everyone the protagonist values--

Bam. Whoosh.

Now that's a renegade I could enjoy playing.

edit: Bonus points if the renegade in question just walks off with a stoic expression while everyone is busy being shocked.
