Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've had much in the way of named Salarian antagonists. Unless you count Anoleis, which I don't.

I personally count the Dalatrass Linron as an antagonist. Sure, in the strictest definition of the word she's not, but the thought of that smug little turd makes me rather fond of your airlock idea.  :D

I'd like to see race/gender/class combos we haven't seen yet. Like you've mentioned with the Human Engineer, I would like to see an Matriarch Atheyta personality style Asari Vanguard (although I doubt this would happen), a female Turian soldier, a male Quarian infiltrator (so on, so forth).

My personal absolute favourite thing that I'd like to play in the Mass Effect universe, if not ME:A, would be ship battles. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron fighter-ships, or even controlling a Cruiser in a space battle, telling it where to focus its weapons, at which target etc. Imagine a scene like the approach to the Collector base, but instead of 'Did you upgrade the Normandy? No? Watch people die' there would be consequences to your decisions controlling the cruiser in battle.

Another thing I'd like would be at some point to earn our own frigate/sizeable ship in the game which we could customise and upgrade ourselves. Then we could recruit the background crew from NPCs we've encountered in quests, hub areas etc. Again, maybe whom your hire not only offer stat bonuses and the like, but also potentially have an element of consequence there too. Basically, I want everything I liked about Skies of Arcadia, but in the Mass Effect setting.

Heh. I remember posting something like this in the "Design your own crew" thread a while ago. Glad to see I'm not alone in the desire for the chaotic good, badass Salarians. :)

"Male Salarian Soldier. Engaging personality. The heaviest the weapon, the better. Smiles all the time. Sings while slaughtering enemies. "Life too short". Not romanceable, but bangs every single crew member except for female human soldier at some point. Any heavy drinking situation in which the PC is not romantically involved with someone else leads to a cut-scene of the PC waking up beside him."

Ha! That's awesome :)

Vorcha pyromaniac. For some reason I read that as Volus pyromaniac  I would add a salarian sniper who chews unlit cigars, who drinks too much and then challenges every krogan he meets to a headbutting contest by claiming he invented the genophage, and who tries to impress all the women he meets by actually licking his eyeballs. When asked why he behaves this way, he sneers, "because life is too damn short" and then laughs like it's the galaxy's best joke.

A volus pyromaniac would work for me too.

I absolutely love it. Though the headbutting with Krogan habit seems like it would ensure that he becomes the next Jenkins pretty much right away.

No.

But why not?  :(

This is true. Maybe he always goes first and knocks himself out?

Unmaked Voluses. What is the proper plural of Volus anyway? Volii?

Am I the only one curious about what they look like under those helmets? Eveyone was so fixated on what the Quarians looked like under the helms (mainly because Tali was a LI) that it seemed like it was forgotten that the Quarians weren't the only species who always wore helmets that hid their faces.

I doubt they'll ever be unmasked however, due to lack of fan demand. If not I'll continue to roll with this as my head canon:

Spoiler

If you ask me, you kids are spoiled and have never had to work for anything in your lives.

Back in my day we had to work hard for just to have food on the table, now people are 300lbs and complain that people notice.

Damn grandpa, chill, if you get too angry you might blow a gasket or something, and then we'll have to deal with grandma on our heads.

As far as things we've never had, Quarian enemies would be one. Another would be proper helmets for four eyed species like the Batarians.

1.A well written ending
2.An Asari free squad ( female Turian biotic instead)
3.No Asari romance
4. No timed quests
5. No nerfing protagonist in cut scenes
6. Able to finish game as an adept never using a gun or any forced weapons ( turrets etc.)

Again, a chance to communicate via email (or with similar medium). To answer nicely or negatively or just leave messages unanswered.

+ More fiction to read in-game! I did not realize until my last and final playtrough that I could read Mass Effect novels (Ascension etc.) in the second game. Always ignored the magazines!

It's just that you're such a downer.  I complain with the best of them, but ease up bud.

Except the cloaca which result in one less crew member, like hell if I am getting felt up a bug eating lizard.

Sounds as bad as DAI.

Write a Chantry story. Make the new Messiah some random bum who doesn't give a **** about any of it necessarily! It's so clever and diverse. If only they could be overweight, while we're at it.

Let's get back to discussing "The things we've never had."  I mentioned this comment in the "ME:A Wish List" thread and want to mention it here too.

I recently viewed a recorded ME-3 MP vid posted on Youtube (at T: 16:14+), and saw a tall Hex Shield acting as a place for cover (I think) during combat. I know nothing about ME-3 MP, and nothing about the Geth Juggernaut class abilities.

I'd like to place a hex shield like this in solo play as a way to create a cover position, when fighting out in the open, for example. Perhaps it could last for ~20 secs. I see it as a tech power primarily, but would like it to be a device any protagonist can place in position. An IED/booby-trap device that we can plant when being chased would be nice too. We have grenades - why not a versatile device too?

An intelligent protagonist.

I completely agree. In ME-1, Shepard had the rank of commander. As such, he/she would NOT have needed Nihlus to tell them that mass effect fields made FTL possible, and other current-tech devices had come from the protheans. The protagonist should be telling others of what they should already know. How does a person attain the rank of commander and still be so ignorant of the past that makes current technology possible?  And how is it that Shepard knew nothing about Spectres, and had to have Pressly, Dr. Chakwas, and Anderson 'splain all of it to them? Shepard at least should have known that there were no human Spectres, and that they curry-combed the galaxy dealing with problems for the Citadel Council - maybe even had some personal mission experience with one in the past.  A protagonist needs to explore and learn new things, but do they have to be so blatantly uninformed?

Well, the more you love something, the angrier you get when its ruined, and I loved Mass Effect like southern baptist churchgoers love Jesus.

Uh yeah. The Hex Shield is one of the most hated abilities in the game because it blocks your team's powers and weapons without penetration mods/ammo. Not to mention line of sight. I want that piece of crap gone completely, as well as the "cover everywhere" level design. Allow us to kneel or lie down for cover... or use the jetpack to evade. That would make more sense than conveniently arranged rock formations each time you have to fight (hello, ME2).

About the booby trap device... we've already got that. The Talon Mercenary has Cain Mines. Attach to anything and are triggered if someone passes the laser beam. Boom. Before that we already had Sticky Grenades. They attach to anything and explode after a time or if an enemy is in the proximity.
