As highly unlikely as I suspect it will be, I would love to see more drell, even as a squadmate. But then I would love it if we had squadmates we've never had before, batarians, male quarians, female krogan etc. but as long as we have one, that would be awesome in itself.

I'd like to see an improvement to the captain's private terminal as a (Edit: Interactive Videocomm device). Give it a quantum entanglement communication device to speak with a single person in dialog cutscenes; someone who is fairly integral to the missions and assignments from time to time. Their conversations could lead to a developing romance relationship too.
Edit: Why should the P.T. be limited to text messages, and reviewing your journal, upgrades and rewards/medals?

Please. Don't force me to play Human AGAIN in a game world full of cool alien species.
Lol I can't imagine something like that in a mass effect game but it kinda sounds interesting xD

I agree, but usually I like being a racist and play as a human. Lol. Looking forward to an alien protagonist option!

We will probably never play another species (no time soon anyway), and for good reason.
First of all, Mass Effect was built on the foundation of Shepard, which is the human perspective. We have always largely seen the events of the franchise through this lens, which is why many falsely accuse the games of humans being "special." This is not the case. Rather, we are given a gate in which to jump into this growing, expansive, and strange, new universe from a familiar perspective (our own human perspective).
On a more technical note, it's a matter of animations and other species having limitations. Humans are always going to be the easiest and have the most animations merely because they are the most flexible for animations and can provide a wide variety of scenes. Not to mention, humans are the best when trying to present romance on the screen, as other species could be difficult or impractical. This is why it is unlikely we'll ever be able to play as a turian, volus, quarian, batarian, vorcha, or various otheres species in ME outside of a MP optional experience. Even asari would be unlikely as they are all female and this would provide a gender limitation for the protagonist.
Just like the game even articulated, humans are just the most genetically diverse. From a character creator perspective, this is preferred as there is much more variety you can have in humans than any other species.
I'd like to clarify I'm not against the idea of playing a non-human as a protagonist. I'm merely stating many reasons why it's unlikely to ever occur. It was easier to achieve in Dragon Age Inquisition since elves, dwarves, and qunari are essentially humans. Even in Inquisition, the game originally was only going to offer humans as an option. BioWare delayed the game a year to add race options, which in my personal opinion didn't add a lot to the game from a storytelling perspective. Ironically, most players still played as humans over the added races anyway.

That's what would be enough for me. Maybe option to add scars as well (if we get them in CC).
More scars, more types of scars, different scar placements. Varied freckle options, beauty marks, tattoos.
I doubt there's a chance to see half of what I'd like to, but it's nice to imagine. Scars are definitely high on my CC wish list.

I honestly don't buy into Corypheus being a "warm-up boss." The truth of the matter is DAII was a financial failure and the major DLC that was supposed to be released for that game was cut. Thus, Hawke's story was never completed and DAI was an excuse to finish the story of DAII.
Corypheus, without a doubt, was the main villain. Solas is just foreshadowing for future Dragon Age games. Either way, I don't like either of them. The writing team on Dragon Age should really take cues from the Mass Effect team to make a more interesting villain. Besides Loghain, I really have never liked any of Dragon Age's antagonists.
I'd say otherwise. Solas, Loghain and the Arishok are pretty great villains. Sovereign and Saren were nice, but the former was unfortunately downgraded a bit what with all the later revelations about the Reapers. Other than that, ME doesn't have any standout villain, and some pretty lame ones (Harbinger, Kai Leng) to boot.

One caveat I'd have about a "simplistic" villain is that there's only a few motivations that would be good for such a villain, the go to's are usually greed or blood lust and neither are too effective in a sci-fi setting, even if its more space fantasy than it cares to admit.
and also, more tattoo options, preferably ones that don't look like a toddler doodled all over your face, some smaller more subtle ones would be nice

I already mentioned Loghain was the only villain worth mentioning in Dragon Age. Solas is nothing more than a vengeful "elven god" who seems to hate humans and is hellbent on destroying them. I fail to see what is so great about him. The Arishok was a one-dimensional with an obsession for the Qun and waiting for his time to cleanse Kirkwall of its "filth." I fail to see how either Solas or Arishok are as interesting or multifaceted as Sovereign or Saren.
Sovereign is the reason anybody even felt the reapers were an interesting villain to start. Saren was ruthless but also had a reason to his madness, trying to save organics from extinction. I wouldn't call Kai Leng a "villain" as he was just a tool for TIM, who was the actual villain and a very good one at that. Harbinger never received any development so he never had a chance to flourish.
We'll have to agree to disagree because I think it's fairly obvious ME has a far better track record of villains than DA. I don't even think they are in the same ballpark.

Sovereign is Snidely Whiplash. It's actually an understatement to call it a one-dimension villain, because it doesn't even get a dimension.

Cats- no more fish, let us have cats.
mmhmm....i would love a big cat/dog-like creature akin to dogmeat. the little robot we had in me3 was a good idea. i feel like it was poorly implemented but really and truly it fulfilled its purpose, which was not much to begin with.
for mass effect history, i wouldnt mind being able to actually see the family of the protagonist.
like maybe an estranged brother, or an adopted sister who resents you but still ends up going to andromeda with you because secretly they rly do love you as their family. there's alot of potential for good story in something like that. imagine like you get in a real twist and severely injured and it makes you realise how much you mean to them...or something like that...
i'd say a closet with lotsa outfits but OP said lore friendly.
hmmmm

Your opinion. I thought his speech with Shepard in ME1 for the very first time was one of the highlights of the trilogy. None of the villains in Dragon Age have an equivalent.
I'll take that over any of the lame villains in Dragon Age.

Dragon Age can keep it's different species protagonist. I prefer the familiarity of humanity in Mass Effect. I wouldn't be able to take the game seriously "roleplaying" as a blue humanoid with a squid head.
Anyways, an intellectually superior Krogan would be nice. Okeer was a good example.

The problem with Sovereign, and pretty much the reapers in general is that holding the idiot ball became a necessity in order to defeat it. I enjoyed Sovereign's buildup, but it essentially wrecks itself with a terrible tactic with the Saren hopper, which was basically the only reason it was defeated.

Blame BioWare for failing to come up with a better explanation for how to defeat a reaper. The fault was never with Sovereign.

I think it could potentially work though, if the greed is tempered with a really, really good facade.
If I'm honest, I really just want Frank Underwood as an ME villain.

The thing that bothers me the most about the reapers is their inability to aim.
Am I supposed to believe that an immortal, sentient starship, optimized for eliminating organic lifeforms and equipped with a laser that fire in a perfectly straight line, is incapable of locking on to a single target?

Before anyone asks how the Brass might know, someone could have "accidentally" slipped the information to them. It struck me as hard to hide that relationship. If nothing else, people gossip. It seems to be a universal trait among mortals in general.

How about a comment from the older Alliance brass about Shep dating an alien, especially a Turian? It would have been nice to have the occasional reaction to that, considering that the older veterans fought them only 30 years ago in game time. Or possibly some sort of comment if Sheploo is with a quarian, since they were generally looked down upon and a little reviled. I feel that was a wasted chance for some interesting interaction.

More reactivity to the different relationships the PC develops in general would be cool. I seriously loved the bit in the Citadel where your companions recognized which of them went along the least often, for example.
