What is the point in saving up credits by the millions? I see a lot of people talk like 5 million credits is not that much...? So what's the point in saving them up like that? Though, I have noticed to get more uncommon consumables per jumbo pack when I have over a million or so...any correlation?

No point whatsoever.

Their was the old mythical saying that for every 1million credits spent on APs you might get an UR.

But it's all nonsense and voodoo talk. I got 2 ultra rares from two spectre packs in a row not so long ago.

But I do like to horde my credits for a rainy day. 2million usually gets me one measly half decent cyclonic from the troll store :(

It's really just preference... some people would prefer to buy alot of stuff in one go then play a few games buy, play a few games buy.

I've got over 15 million on my main X-Box account at the moment. But it's maxed and I only keep a healthy stockpile for when my top of the line level 4 consumables dip under 240 out of the 255 max. And for respect cards when I need them.

My biggest saving was 62 or 63 million saved. That spending spree brought me very close to maxed manifest back then. Two days after that I finally had it maxed with 15 or so more Ultra Rares to go. It felt good. ... Then I retired.

Because in the old days of DLC releases, everyone farmed their favorite map and faction to build up credits in which to buy PSPs for all the new kits and URs etc and ppl would then go on spending sprees

Some prefer to spend millions rather than spend as they play

I save up so that I can max out gels/cobras/etc with jumbo packs before moving on to arsenal packs.

I do the same, if you keep buying JEP's they become (iirc) the fastest way to get low level equipment. (sans modding)

Didn't somebody do the math on saving vs. spending? I vaguely remember seeing someone in the forums calculated the drop-rate on saving up credits and going on a spending spree vs. buying packs in dribs and drabs, and the drop-rate was the same for each.

This. It's simply the most efficient way of spending.

^ That or not dieing and rocketing as much. Which is what I started trying to do on PC before space magic. Still doing it on PS3. For X-Box it doesn't matter since I'm still rich there.

Tips: promote before you buy packs, so you don't waste XP gained from character cards.

Sure it will. The problem is the cost of it as a whole.

Inb4 they lock this thread because of me.

Can I talk it out with mods? Or are they operated by the "just guilty until proven innocent"?

The only mod that doesn't seem like a robot is #2, Love ya 2

Back on topic:

Stockpiling credits also helps with promoting a butt load of characters, if you don't wanna grind on bronze.

For the Resurgence DLC, I saved up to 2.6 million credits (I Remember not getting a Geth kit out of that). Rebellion was 6 million credits, (I still remember not getting a Harrier out of it). Before Earth DLC was 1 million. After the Earth DLC, I saved up to 10 million credits, I had a system buying Jumbo Equipment Packs for that journey. And after that it just was 1-2 million credits saved for each spending spree.

Well I have all weapons maxed and 81k challenge points(top1%). I'm just trying to stick up on level 3 AR and SMG amps, and level 3 Adrenaline. I have been experimenting by the off chance that the game will feel sorry for me if I sit in a plat lobby with level 2 equipments on hoping maybe the game will be like "hmmm this is plat, lets dish out some level 3s of what he's trying to use."

But I'm pretty sure it's completely random. Aside from the Jumbo packs; I seriously think the more credits you have banked and buying just jumbos consecutively it like gives you a small small percentage bonus towards increasing your chances of getting uncommons(weapon amp 3s and such). Like maybe if you're in a spending spree on just jumbos, it may increase your chances of getting uncommons by like 5% for every 5 to 10 packs you by consecutively. Same with the pity theory I described earlier. Some of wanna give it a shot n let me know what you think? Sit in plat lobby with all level 2 consumables equipped - I do it with AR amp 2s and adrenaline 2s. Then go on at least a million spending spree on JUST JUMBO PACKS. It really does seem to give me considerably more level 3s of the level 2s I equip. I really think there's something there, give it shot! Let me know what you think. I've also tried it when buying PSPs for AP ammo 4s and incendiary 4s, by sitting in play with level 3s of those.
