BioWare can we please have the option to say no to sex but yes to relationships?

Nuns can't even have a relationship, sex or not. They are married to "God".

If you somehow still found yourself hooked up to one, something's gone wrong. Sex is hardly the issue. How you even got to that point is strange enough. :P

Life is strange and reality is unrealistic.

Also, can and are supposed to can sometimes be two very different things.

"Be fruitful and multiply".

That's the religious stance.. at least Judeo-Christian.  People like that article earlier are odd. Either that, or they're just pessimistic and into eschatology and think it's pointless to get on with life.

Celibacy is an entirely different thing..but to be married and celibate? Odd.

OP the moment you'll find in real life a human specimen (of both genders) that wants a romantic relationship without sex then please contact the WWF because you a got a rare specimen there.

Why would an enviromental organization geared towards preserving the enviroment and endangered species be the one to contact? I mean, you can but I'd imaging they'd be kind of uninterested since it has no relevance to their organization or reply with a duh. Although that would depend on whoever picks up the phone, I suppose.

Hmm, where you intending that to be about asexuality or lowered sexual interest and drive amongst humans being a rarity and therefore making said people an endangered species because that is not how I believe that works since the people would still be humans and humans are not exactly endangered.

That is true by one definition of celibacy since that definition, from what I can understand, do hold that celibacy can also be a person who remains unmarried, sometimes because of religious reasons. A different and perhaps more common definition, however, hold that it can be a person who abstains from sexual relations, sometimes for religious reasons.

It seems to differ from culture, society and religion as sometimes the two definitions do not seem to be mutually inclusive.

I guess the idea of "consummating" an imaginary relationship by seeing simulated sex rendered in engine doesn't really hold much emotional value to me.

An interesting point.

When watching the complete romance vids on youtube I often skip the so called sex scene. Besides Jacks quickie down stairs that is.

Why?

It fits her character to do that.

I think they could remove sex entirely and it would make little difference in the long run.

Curiosity seems to be driving the requests.

My own preference is to be able to skip if I've already seen it. Not if I don't want to though.

Well, I don't know anything like that even in conservative Christian circles, except that article earlier. Even the Apostle Paul (who is probably the main authority on the church's celibacy doctrine) just encourages couples to abstain occasionally. There's nothing about marrying and then remaining celibate indefinitely. Celibacy has always been relegated to single people, who feel called to it. Other religions, not entirely sure. I know Buddhists can be devout laymen, but they don't need to be celibate. Some of them only might in countries where they join a monastery for a short time, when young.

What you mean by "you people"?

I preferred the bit where you told me to post on other topics if this didn't interest me :P

By you people it's people who request this - I'm just waiting for 'a toggle ' to be suggested.
We seem to be getting this thread in a different guise every week with generally the same proponents.

I've always wondered about those in a non-sexual, deep and meaningful relationship - do they still crack one off in the bathroom when the other half is out?

Because no one gives two damns about game or gameplay anymore....it is all about "Can I bang someone/ or no?" in today's gaming.

As of this post, I do believe there are about twenty-nine threads on the first page of this forum and I do believe that of those about three are about romantic or sexual content. That would leave about twenty-six threads that are not about romantic or sexual content so I do believe there is a flaw in your perception of current interest. Additionally, the content in the aforementioned few threads would be in the game and be gameplay so it would be a counterpoint to your assessment that no one cares about the game or its gameplay.

If you are uninterested in or have strong negative feelings towards this topic then there are plenty of others threads avaliable for your reading that you may find more to your liking and interest.

Eh, I'm going to have to stay traditional with this one.

A relationship without consummation isn't really much of a relationship.  *holds up flame shield against progressives*

If your intended LI rejects your breeding requests you should be able to throw them out the airlock.

And wave goodbye.

3, I've always wondered about those in a non-sexual, deep and meaningful relationship - do they still crack one off in the bathroom when the other half is out?

1. I'm still a bit sick and muddled so I had you mixed up with the post I mention below or above - whichever way it is. I changed it because its tone seemed a bit unpleasent which I felt was unwarranted given your post. I can reapply it more politely if you'd like.

2. It is not as much a request for a toggle as I see but a request for an option that continues the relationship without trigger the sexual content, albeit one worded incredibly poorly. Basically, a "I feel this is a bad time" or "I want to get to you first." kind of case.

3. Some do: they may be a person with a lowered to non-existent sexual drive who have no interest in sex but who still masturbate though it is not always due to sexual interest or thoughts and sometimes caused by stimulation.

To give a reason that is untied to sexual interest or drive: In the case of sperm build-up that was previously mentioned and from what I can understand based on further reading, the male body tend to never cease to produce semen which can lead to a need for the body to divest itself of it which the body can do by making itself overly sensitive to stimulance like a breeze or a blanket thereby either leading to quick release or slowly dripping it out little by little. This can apparently be the cause of wet dreams according to some.

I'll give you a discount on shields with a fire effect that holds protection against aspects of history, science, language, culture and religion since it seems like you might need those as well.

I just googled that, listened to the first 15 seconds...  If it's by NWA, then no.

Classic, we used to have parties and play that **** near the end. Imagine 100+ teenagers singing that next door.

How about an option to, I don't know, get married? Or would getting married be too radical and crazy, as compared to S&M in DAI?

I don't see the problem here.  The title of the thread specifically says "option to say no".  If it's optional and allows people to roleplay the protagonist how they wish, how is this a bad thing? People can still choose for their player character to have sex.

I'm catholic and even we were laughing at them.

And "We'll get divorced if they introduce gay marriage" was even more hilarious from a religious perspective.

BioWare can simply solve the problem by having balance of sex and romance without getting rid of one of the other. It is natural to have sex with your partner that you have a relationship with.

That doesn't solve anything. Not everyone has sexual relations while they're in a romantic relationship at that stage if ever for a variety of reasons.

Yes there is. This thread wouldn't exist if there wasn't.
