I believe Dorian has an option in his romance to slow things down at the Inquisitor's request so that the two of them can come to know each other better. This does not end the relationship.
This could be a neat implementation.

Let me see if I understand this example; Someone is basically pressuring someone else into having sex on the threat of ending the relationship based on personal insecurities if the other person do not agree to have sex even though the other someone does not want to for different reasons that are not necessarily tied to religion.
Nope in BW games you never start in a relationship with your companion you are merely flirting with someone you just encountered...giving hint that you might be interested but when said person come to you with the idea to progress to the next stage and then you turn him/her down for X reason you can safely expect this person to avoid repeating this thing the next time since you are not in a relationship.
This is different than telling to your established partner that today you don't feel doing sex. Totally different.
I think sex is an important part but it shouldn't be "the reward" at the end. It would be nice to maybe actually start it with a one-night-stand. But for those who don't want to do it, there could be races who might can't have sex or just don't feel attracted to human bodys. They could make a relationship without sex out of it.
But it's hard to please everyone and I think a few seconds long dry humping sexscene won't hurt anyone. We never get to see much anyway, so just imagine no much happens.

Relationship without sex. I think I have a lot of them, it's called friendship.

I mean of course a romantic one. Come on keep up ;D
Jon and Darla Crocker for LIs in ME:A.
Oh please, logic and religion never mix.

I say the same thing about cats.
Oh please, logic and religion never mix.
That has nothing to do with any religion I know.

That's a given.
OP the moment you'll find in real life a human specimen (of both genders) that wants a romantic relationship without sex then please contact the WWF because you a got a rare specimen there.
Sex is not something to be ashamed of, it is part of nature...........deal with it and with all the religious mumbo jumbo that was taught to you.
I certainly see no point in being involved with a broad if sex isn't on the table. That just reduces things to a mere "friendship", which women are sub-par for.

Because it negatively affects the choice for the wider player base for what appears to be a tiny minority who wish to avoid sex. If the norms of society were polar opposite to what they are i wouldn't expect such a mainstream game to be built with sex heavily present.
So does adding non-heterosexual orientations like homosexuals, yet that doesn't mean they should not have them.
As an asexual, I appreciated the Josephine romance in DAI, but I have no particular desire for sexless romances to become a Bioware "thing."
You can count me as an extreme outlier, but I have zero interest in video game "representation" for my non-orientation.
I suppose it doesn't matter to me because I never do self-insert play-throughs, and generally prefer to RP a character who is as far away from "me" as s/he can get.
I don't mind "I truly love, you but sex doesn't interest me" or somesuch becoming a dialogue option as long as people can handle being politely told that that's a dealbreaker and friend-zoned on the spot by characters who don't think the same way. Or groveling semi-enthusiastic replies followed by the romanced companion getting more and more frustrated and resentful, resulting in a painful breakup after repeated attempts at convincing the protagonist to have sex. Or them eventually just abandoning ship in favor of a "real" relationship.
We've had a lot of trouble with the sentiment that the games' romantic options should be tailored by inaccurately estimated popular demand, and I don't agree with that, but if the characters start becoming mindless cookie-cutter love interests who are happy to submit to any kind of relationship you want entirely on your terms then that'd be several steps in the wrong direction imho.
Most of the Bioware romances aren't even actual relationships by real life standards. Mostly they're just short flings and occasional tender moments en route to missions between people who barely know each other, with almost zero actual commitment and far more time spent apart without communication than together socially. Garrus' romance is unique in that it actually recognizes that it's just them blowing off steam, which then potentially grows into more. More of that, please.
Of course, given wordcount limits, it's hard for Bio to really get into a deep relationship. As it should be; I'm a big fan of Outlander, but I don't think it's a great role model for Bio in terms of resource allocation.
True, and Bioware protagonists as a rule just aren't in circumstances where it would make sense for them to engage in complicated and time-consuming long-term romantic relationships.

I hoped it would be more than just friendship!
But seriously, make it a choice to have sex, if opted out of it the relationship still goes on. There are plenty of reasons for why you wouldn't want to engage in some sexy time at that very specific moment. How the rest of the relationship goes can be your headcanon.

Adding them wasn't a detriment to individual hetrosexual romances being fully developed and they are orientations with much more mainstream presence now.
This isn't new. BioWare did that before in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It was actually very nice. I enjoyed it. Didn't see side boob or side ass in the ONE scene we're accustomed to getting? Big deal. The romance storyline and pursuit was nice and well done.
You do have the option to hit the "Esc" key to kill the sex cutscene. Based on your username, I could understand how that wouldn't be your thing.
Oh please, logic and religion never mix.
Contrary to popular belief (take that sarcastically), Christian couples are not instructed by the Bible to refrain from sex with their married partner.

Disagree thought DAI's handling of it was poor and badly done by and large.

Opinions.
Why?

Some devs at Bioware talked about how stuff like that may continue in future titles, so here's hoping.

Yes, I'm down to have the option to say postponing it, but what I don't like is to keep the entire relationship ambiguous. It would be fine to have a choice to have sex or a choice to skip the scene, but I don't want the fact that it could happen to be ambiguous. I'm all for choices if it's like that.
