She seems to have such a mouth to insult Dorian and Cassandra, everyone basically, but she hides her tail when the Inquisitor appears. It was a big surprise how she get mad with Dorian.

Was she winning something with the Inquisition and this is why she really join?

I don't really believe she is here to "help people", looks like she join the Inquisition to trow **** and sing in the worst moment of the game.

That's arguably the best moment in the game. And she never gains anything from joining the Inquisition.

More like a dragon in a nug skin.

I think she genuinely wanted to help and wanted to make sure that the Inquisition was the nice, healing kind rather than bloodthirsty terrors razing the lands.

Her objection to Dorian is the proper reaction to a Tevinter Magister who suddenly appears and starts sucking up to your leader, be it king, president, major or the person in charge of the candy supplies. I'm sure Jafar and Yzma seemed like such nice, well dressed people to the rulers they tricked, even if their nature is obvious to the viewer. I mean the man has a ridiculous mustache, was a student to Alexius and messes with corpses in his spare time. How can you not realize he's evil!

And when does she insult Cassandra? Last time I saw her she was clamouring to have the lady become the next Divine.

Dorian are a son of a hostile empire's powerful family.
Legitimate concerns that affect the Inquisitor.

I will defend Dorian all day long and I enjoy putting Giselle in her place in that conversation, but even HE says, "She meant well, if that's any concern." That doesn't mean that he was happy about it, or enjoyed the encounter, just that he understood where she was coming from. He also has a healthy amount of general cynicism to expect such behavior, which is why he asks if the "rumors" bother you.

The entire Chantry is loosely an allegory for the Catholic church. Mothers? Sisters? Inquisition? Etc. And so it fits that there are morally judgmental attitudes in that sphere.

Damn Mother Giselle, cockblocking me with Dorian every time.

I know everyone is concerned about him being Tevinter, but she even yells "Don't play the fool with me!" getting so mad broh. She is not a sweet sister as she looks like

The fact that not "sweet sister", maybe even good sister. ;)

No need to always be sweet.

Basically this.

The Chantry members are inevitably somewhat judgmental because they aim to make everyone "better" (as in relatively better according to their own standards). If you follow/have followed any religious organization, then this should be obvious.

Of course how they apply that judgement is what makes Giselle different from Petrice for example.

Giselle is a very kind and well-meaning person, but even she didn't notice how she was acting towards Dorian until the IQ pointed it out. To her credit, she apologized.

Its always interesting when someones character is suddenly questioned

I wonder who else in Inquisition is suddenly shady? Perhaps Cabot the Bartender or Ser Morris and his elusive "qualifications"

The herbalist in the garden of the Inquisition is probably a spy of Solas.

I think she genuinely means well and wants to help people.   What tends to annoy me is how she happily adjusts the truth to suit her audience.   She tells my elf that the Exalted March on the Dales wasn't really an Exalted March.   Really?   Then take a look at all the propaganda in the Exalted Plains, Giselle, because Sister Amity sure as hell thought it was an Exalted March (I think the clue is in the name they gave to the battle fields).   Then after our jaunt in the Fade, she (along with practically everyone else admittedly) is in favour of concealing the truth about what really occurred and the fact that it wasn't Andraste who aided you before.   When you try and have a conversation about things that Corypheus said about the Golden/Black City, she deftly repudiates what he said.

Still I'll grant her the fact that she was at least willing to admit she was wrong about Dorian and apologise to him in public, so definitely among the better Chantry clergy.  However, it was a pity she didn't step forward and defend our efforts on behalf of the common people to the Exalted Council.   It was noticeable how there were no witnesses for the defence in that one.   Mind you I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering she had already admitted she wanted it disbanded even before the others got their teeth stuck in.

Mother Giselle just has a big mouth.. (pun intended :D).

She likes to talk and talk and preach etc.
It's funny when in Trespasser she doesn't want to express what she thinks about the Divine and the Inquisitor says "With all respect Mother Giselle, that's never stopped you before...". I was like "EXACTLY!".
