I mean, they had them in the last 2 games so it's definitely become a part of the franchise, but well time will tell I guess. Should they bring it back? I remember we asked for it in Dragon Age Inquisition and never got it, despite being the same company you'd think they'd just ask the ME team how they did it and can they borrow their toy? Here's to hoping one of the unsung features from the series comes back.
Wonder if Face Codes will return...

DAI is a different engine, so I imagine that was the reason.
Here's hoping they improved it.. here and elsewhere.

I wish they did have it.
I happen to think my squiz quite attractive I would have liked to reuse the face.
Dunno why they got rid of this for ME3 it was creative and fun.

It depends on the Character Creator. If the CC is too complex, Face Codes won't really work anymore since there will be dozens or hundreds of digits.

I'm hoping they can come up with some kind of other system for this though, otherwise I'll have to resort to taking screenshots of the sliders again, which is a hassle.

The complexity of a more advanced CC makes such codes impossible. The best alternative would be a file system of some kind. Link your game to your EA account, make your character's face, upload it to the EA website and share it online or download it.
EDIT- To make it more clear how the faces could be shared, i mean you would just link the faces you want to your EA account online and they would be added to your game as options when you make a character.

Then wouldn't you simply make the feature save and allow someone to export / import the changes? I just started up Blade and Soul and despite the problems in that game you can actually save and import/export your face to other characters and their CC can get pretty detailed itself despite it's unique art style.

Depends on the CC I guess and how complex and detailed it'll be. I wouldn't mind seeing face codes return though.

The new CC might be to complex for face codes, but it should still be possible to save an appearance for future use/reuse. Champions online allowed you to save an appearance.

Face codes never work with mods anyway, and if Inquisition is any indication, there will be a ton of mods to improve upon the character creation system.

They won't. Different engine.

I sure hope so.
That and.. I hope the CC isn't anything like DAI, that was painful.

This suggests that face codes are possible in Frostbite, and that BioWare knows how to do them.

BioWare never supports mods anyway so its not something they have to factor into whether or not they want to bring back face codes, everyone who mods does so knowing that they aren't going to help you make it compatible with any updates or planned features in the game, so its more the modders problem not the coders.

I expect they will. Mark Darrah has said that they meant to include them in DAI, but made a mistake during development that made them impossible.

not to mention no matter how complex the code or how long a face code would be because of it, this isn't the 80s-90s, where we had to hand write our game codes/passwords down, copy and paste exist for PC players.

I would like it, but if they recycle the same CC used in Inquisition, I can see why there would be some problems. You'd have to, or BioWare would have to, to be more specific; would have to apply a string of code to every single pixel within the CC area. In Inquisition, you had a cursor where you could move it anywhere in the area available, and every slight movement would change the face. It would be a huge undertaking to try and apply that to a simple code you could input to get the exact same face.

If not and if it'll be similar to DA:I then for the love of pony show what the coordinates are so we can write them down atleast.

Even if we did, manually editing codes might be a fun way to create characters. Like hex codes for colours.not to mention no matter how complex the code or how long a face code would be because of it, this isn't the 80s-90s, where we had to hand write our game codes/passwords down, copy and paste exist for PC players.

Other games allow you to upload characters you created and share them with others. They can access those characters ingame, mod them even further and use them as they fit. So it's nothing new... question is would it work for ME:A?

I'd love to see some way of saving or using chars in other playthroughs. Sometimes you just get something in the CC that you really like. If they can find a way, hopefully they'll do it.

It would be good if we had the option to save our character's face as a preset. Then when you start a new game, it could be added to the original preset options (or replace one, if need be?). Then you can tweak it if you want.
