Does anyone have any issues with this quest triggering? I've had the drinks with the Chargers and everything - yet this quest won't trigger. Is it Story Mode related - because I've just done Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts and haven't completed Here Lies the Abyss yet. Just wondering when does this trigger - because I REALLY want to romance Iron Bull, and nothing is going anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you talked to him about Ben-Hassrath? It is required to trigger DotQ.

I don't believe so, literally met his Chargers and that's it

This is my second attempt to romance Iron Bull. The first time I accidentally flirted with Blackwall, cementing his romance and locking out Iron Bull's. So I restarted the game. I do remember getting Demands of the Qun however - but I believe it was after Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts and Here Lies The Abyss. This time I'm surprised nothing is happening. I've avoided Blackwall like the plague, and have literally only flirted with Harding and Cassandra - and as a female character this shouldn't affect anything? Eh who knows what's going on. Is IB prejudiced against Qunari or something ahhaa

You need to talk to him about Ben-Hassrath and have the drinking scene with him and the Chargers.

The Chargers drinking scene has occurred but to my knowledge he hasn't mentioned Ben-Hassrath

I flirted with everyone and still got Bull early on.  I just talked to him a lot and he also approved of my decisions so I got loads of approval early on.  Maybe he didn't approve of your major decisions?  You could check the wiki.  If you need more approval, I think you get some from him if you go kill a dragon.  Plus a great cutscene...so try that.

He doesn't mention Ben-Hassrath himself. You need to ask him about them with one of dialogue options you have with him.

 

Also, you don't need to complete WEWH nor HLtA.

1. Exhaust all the dialogue with him in Haven/Skyhold, flirt at every possible situation.

2. Hinterlands is a good place to get approval with him. Do the horse racing quest, kill venatori, kill the dragon, help people in Redcliffe, help people in the Crossroads. I think this'll shoot up your approval with him big time. Western Approach also has venatori and a dragon. (Remember to bring him with you)

3. If all else fails, check the wiki for the story quests, and pick options that Iron Bull approves with.

 

My main goal is to be in a relationship with him before Adamant, and it has always worked.

I decided to do Here Lies the Abyss after reading other guides, and took him with me. He approved of pretty much any dialogue choice I made as well as any decision. I decided the fates of those Grey Wardens as well (the names escape me at the moment) and his approval increased. I went and spoke to him and got four cutscenes one after the other, flirted and then finally got the ride the bull scene so I'm a happy camper! 

Turns out I hadn't met his team yet although I could've sworn I had. Weird. 

 

Just need to kill a dragon to cement his romance now, hopefully I can do that ahaha! Thanks for the help everyone

And I got Demands of the Qun in there as well! Should've mentioned. 

 

I can remember the first time I did the mission last time Gatt's dialogue glitched out and it was the weirdest thing ever. Iron Bull was just talking to himself it was so bizarre. But this time it worked properly.

In my Bull romance playthrough, I messed up somewhere, and didn't get any romance content until after WEWH. I was all ready for him to meet me out on the balcony to dance since we were good friends and I'd picked every flirt option (including asking him to dance). Then Josie came out for a friendly chat. I assumed his romance was just paced differently. Then finally, after Demands of the Qun (RIGHT after WEWH) I talked to him and he showed up in my room with "I can take a hint."
CAN YOU, BULL? I wasn't sure for a while there!
Welp! If I ever try that again, it'll be with a guide. Glad you were able to flyer it figured out!
