The only way you don't kill him is by giving him Isabela who escapes, he wouldn't be the Arishok anymore based on that

 

I doubt it. She escapes from Sten in the comics too. I doubt he gets fired.

But she didn't resteal the tome (supposedly) from Sten, which was a big failure on the Arishok

Fair enough. I don't know their laws. I guess it's safe to say they're almost moronically harsh.

 

But my point is, there's a lot of parameters. Sometimes I almost wish the games were a little more linear. *don't shoot*

Bioware just needs to remove the ability to kill off companions unless it's a very-definitely final, final situation like in Trespasser with Bull, and even then I would be hesitant to do so from a writing standpoint as I could be killing off a potentially useful character for a future game. Otherwise we wind up with seemingly impossible situations unless the writers can write themselves out of the corner with reasonable explanations as to how & why some mortally wounded character(s) managed to survive against all odds when their ex-comrades turned against and attacked them.

I think you're right. As fun and dramatic as it can be sometimes.
