I usually don't pay to much attention to many of the immature threads and posts around here but lately it's been to much.

Many years ago when I got into World of Warcraft on of the main reasons why I enjoyed it so much was that I got into a great raid guild with several older more mature players, we had a great guild forum with lots of good and interesting threads.

Things change over time and more and more younger players joined, and of course the maturity level dropped like a rock. It didn't take long until the more mature players had enough of it and just quit, that was the main reason for why I eventually decided to quit as well, the people that used to make it so great and involving where gone and the only thing left was immature stupidity.

I'm not saying that this forum is there yet but it's certainly deteriorating here also. You might find it funny to spam this foolish nonsense day in and day out, but keep in mind that there are some of us that don't like it at all.

I also dislike alt-accounts acting like new players/forum goers, especially here out of all places. Half the time I can't tell the innocent newbies, from the trolls. But there's nothing I can do about it.

Its a shame really, it was nice to see all the people here in the BTM thread but then it started going all downhill. The newer one also seems doomed to go along that path from what I can see now.

Oh well, I hope you still got that fire axe Patrick.

TL;DR: Don't bring the mods down on us because they don't do subtlety.

Also, strongly agree, and like the post, even though I'm out of likes.

Ye, alt accounts were funny a long time ago. Now it's just beating a joke with a dead horse or so, pardon my un-languageness.

I've certainly no problem with some jokes here and there. A well placed gif or pic, a pointed remark or even some healthy discussion can be good for a forum like that. And it's BSN after all. But lately my ignore list gets longer and longer.

Whatever.

Bateman for moderator!

While I do agree with the general feeling behind this, one thing should be noted.

It's useless to complain. The moderators are clearly deaf to this and any other topic.

As with politicians, it's useless to complain about them and not realize that they're there because of how we act, and react.

So if you wanna do something about it, something real...

Ignore them.

Completely. Behave like they're not there.

They're here to get attention. Even if it's a bad one, when someone answers them, directly or indirectly, he's giving them exactly that.

So there's just one thing to do: ignore them altogether. If everyone does that, they'll be gone before you know it.

Well, i dont see a clear problem as most spams could be genuine the last week. And, there s a block option or you could just skip those message easily.

Who cares if it s alt or not ?

The issue is rather that spam gets threads (air-)locked. So even if you were to ignore the spammers, they are still spamming. And it only takes two to sink a ship.

It have resulted in the mods closing or deleting great threads, one might ignore the spammers but good threads will still suffer.

I know what you mean OP, trolls are a blight. Except for Jack Crapper, his threads are pure gold.

When I ponder such a world I'm tempted to post that gif of Peter Venkman covered in slime, which would actually be like a little double entendre of its own in this particular thread.  :D

And while I understand the OP's frustrations, I have a much higher tolerance for spam than I do for censorship.  That said, I do quite like the idea of having the Patrick Bateman as a forum mod.

I'm so confused. I came here for forum spam. And instead I see this. What is wrong with you people?! You can't even do forum spam right. You're supposed to say the same damn stupid thing over and over and over until your brain starts to convince itself that you matter because pixels on the internet. You are definitely not supposed to say a couple of different reasonable things. That is not forum spam at all.

Learn 2 internet.

Everybody knows who I am, so I see no issue there. But I can always spot nat in the hat alts. If it ain't about big chests, it's what he writes that always gives him away to me. Yet Bateman is a fan of nat in the hat, clearly hates his alts, but as soon as he finds out it's another alt of his, his tone changes because nat in the hat. I find this funny.
