I cannot seem to save the dragon. I turn the rings to move the jets, run to blow up the wagon and then open the gates but they close again and all of us die. This happens repeatedly. Is this a PC version bug or am I doing something wrong - please help!!!

The only way you can move the rings into the correct position is if you destroy that one cluster of bombs sitting on the track. You need to release your Anchor's energy in order to do that. I know it may seem like there is enough space for the dragon to maneuver in some circumstances, and it would be if it were real life, but the path needs to be completely free and open from the center to the gate. Then, after you get all of the rings into the correct position, with a clear path to the gate, then you pull the gate levers to open the doors as the very last step.

You can't move the rings fully into position until you've destroyed the cart with the gaatlok blocking them. Go back up and continue moving them into position, THEN open the gate.

1. Blow the wagon
2. Move the rings so little fires do not block the way to the exit
3. Pull both levers to open the exit gate.
I played this game on PC too and had no problems. I mean... Except for Qunari attacking from everywhere :v ...

It's not the easiest of tasks in the DLC but it is possible. I find the best way is let your team mates worry about the Qunari while you take caer of the dragon itself if you wish to free it. The best way probably is blow up the gaatlok first with your anchor. Then come back up to turn the wheels that move the jets into the right position then move to the front to open the door.

As someone who doesn't normally use the Anchor during combat (aside from the occasional dragon or boss fight), I never really thought to use it to blow up the gaatlok blocking the track. I also didn't consider that the damage pulse could be used on inanimate objects, or non-NPC enemies. I had several frustrating attempts before I eventually just looked it up online.

Yeah it is a tricky one because of it because this DLC is the only time we really use the anchor in combat other than to stun the demons around rifts in the main game.

Hi Everyone
Thank you so much for your help - I can see now that I am not moving the rings properly. The video from "greenbrownblue" and the comment by sjsharp2011 also confirmed that it is not an easy task. I will keep going.
Cheers from down under where it's hot and steamy!

It seems strange to put so much effort into saving the dragon after murdering every other dragon in both Feralden and Orlais...

well in the Ataashi's case I'd say I'd defend it because it wasn't really hurting anyone it was being imprisoned and hurt itself. All the dragons that were in the main game were causing a few problems to the areas they were in so it's only naturasl I think for people to want rid of them.

I didn't think all the Dragons in the main game were causing problems (some were, not all), at least not any more than the Ataashi will if you release it. I could be mistaken about that though, I didn't pay the most attention to all of them...

Not to me. I never kill a single dragon (except the Hakkon one because that can't be avoided).

Pretty much. The fact that it's been captured, tortured and used just makes it pathetic. It is not the same thing as fighting dragons out in the wild. Even the ones who weren't harming anyone were at their full strength and made a worthy opponent when you fight them. What glory is there in fighting a caged beast?

It doesn't help that the barrels don't have a little "interact" icon thingy, so it's not like you know right away that you need to do something with them. I tried everything I could think of before finally getting the idea to use the mark on the barrels.

Pretty much. That's what I imagine quizzy telling Bull.....killing a dragon in this state is no challenge. We'll find her again when she's at her full strength. ![]()
It's also more than a little satisfying to see the atashi turn on its captors.
Haha....I love that part. This one is called, "Run you little munchy!" ![]()

Great discussion and I agree that you feel you must free this creature even though she sprays you with poison all the time! It's not her fault.
Thanks everyone.

Wait... does he disapprove if you free her? If so, that's rather disappointing for the reasons I mentioned above. That doesn't seem like him. At that point it's just killing a dragon simply because it's a dragon.

I don't think he does no at least I don't remember him doing so the one time he stayed with me

Free-roaming alpha predator vs. caged animal.
Which after you have released it is now a free roaming alpha predator.
