I wanted to start off by saying I love this game, you all did an awesome job and I'm happy with the overall product. That being said, this is honestly the only place it falls short for me; since romances are one of the biggest reasons I play RPGs.

I realize this is a lot to ask, and considering it's not a story emphasis I know it's not priority; but I my as well ask. At this rate as much as I'd like more romance content from Solas in DA4, and a happier ending, I'd even settle for one or both of them dying and ending up together in the Fade if thats the best I can get. Or if the inquisitor is reincarnated or something.

Since the first DA I've only romanced male elves. And I was hoping that the Solas romance would go something like with Fenris where he bugged out, but changed his mind in the end. In the first two DAs the elf interest stayed with the protagonist, so I feel a tad cheated since elves to me always screamed longevity; and love with them usually seemed deeper than just physical.

This has the potential to be one of the best game romances ever were it given the chance to blossom; and considering he has already left the Inquisitor twice, technically, its due for a change of pace. And yes, I get it, sadness is a facet too; but in this case it seems overly cruel. Any of the other people could've dumped me, and I'd be okay with it.

Solas is a lost soul, and his worst fear is dying alone (as per the headstone in the Fade) so I'd just like to see some sort of continuance. It's too beautiful of a romance to waste, even in the virtual world.

So do something different. Let the "bad" guy get the girl for once and have both of them be all the better for it. They both deserve peace after all the drama. Together.

Don't let him die alone. Or her.

Fangirl, out.

I dunno, your tone here seems to suggest that the male elf romances are somehow exceptional simply they are male elves, and that their romances are deeper. This seems like a slight against every single other romance in DA to date, particularly in your remark that "love with them usually seemed deeper than just physical." While I am not one of them, and see this view as myopic, I can assure you that there are many players who felt used by Fenris.

Solas is a lost soul, and his worst fear is dying alone (as per the headstone in the Fade) so I'd just like to see some sort of continuance. It's too beautiful of a romance to waste, even in the virtual world.

Solas made his choice, and he chose to abandon his love and their relationship, in order to go destroy the very world, which his love is a part of.

As to a continuance, I'm pretty sure that it will be resolved in some way in whatever future game that involves Solas, whether that is DA4 or DA5. However, that is contingent on how they want to portray the Inquisitor in that (those) game(s). You may not like what they come up with, and Patrick Weekes has certainly shown that he doesn't mind throwing in a heaping helping of tragedy for his characters and the romance (romanced Qun Bull betraying Inquisitor or Dorian).

Everyone views people and romances differently. I didn't feel used by Fenris, and the theme for the elf males seems to be "I'm not so sure about this" often, but the end result was the same. If Fenris has used Hawke he wouldn't have stayed by her side forever after that, so I see that as relatively unfounded; but to each their own.

In the case of Solas, he's doing what he thinks is best, so I think the romance between him and the inquisitor could play a huge part in shaping his decisions. I don't consider Solas an a'hole. Yeah, it sucks, but I get it. I'd just like to see him proved wrong is all.

Before Tresspasser and a while after it I thought that Solas romance could be the best romance ever. Now I'm not sure about it anymore. To me a happy ending to that romance could have been that my Inky and Solas would have died together but since that or a real happy ending didn't happen I'm a little bit disappointed. There are also other reasons why I'm disappointed and the thing which happened with Solas just didn't make things any better. For example I was also frustrated with the Adamant decision because my warden romanced warden Alistair and my Hawke romanced Fenris so I had to choose between one of my romances. I know that it's not known what will happen to that person who was left behind but I tend to prepare for the worst.

Anyway maybe the Solas romance will get an ending which I like a lot. Who knows.

LOL he loves the fan tears....

Though, from what I've seen PW is very aware of the fan response the Solas romance got, and it was also his idea to include it in the first place... so I feel like he does care about it, and has tried to make it satisfying to the fans in a way that fits the story. I don't know if the IQ will ever show up again in any future games, but if he/she does, I wouldn't be surprised to see some nod to the romance show up. It's obvious Solas' story isn't over yet, anyway.
