NO! I like my 2 weapon rogues. Look how fast a well built rogue takes out Loghain and his sword in DA:O.
A well built rogue is a mean fighting machine that rules the battle.
A skill tree for sword fighting exists.Weapons and Shields or Two Hand weapons.

But I want just the longsword. I know Bioware's gonna stick to restricted weapon styles, don't worry. But at least I can complain about it in this forum!NO! I like my 2 weapon rogues. Look how fast a well built rogue takes out Loghain and his sword in DA:O.

You can have 2 swords...well I guess 1 sword 1 dagger if you play other Dragon Age games.

I can't really see why someone would use a single weapon on it's own. Picking up a shield would make you much more effective in combat.

I just want to swashbucke with a single blade (in DAO you can, but it hasn't got its own talent tree).I can't really see why someone would use a single weapon on it's own. Picking up a shield would make you much more effective in combat.
About the shield, I often play as a rogue so a shield would feel a bit cumbersome.

I guess I kind of want to look like Thorin Oakenshield, Bard, etc... chars who often use single one-handed swords. You can have 2 swords...well I guess 1 sword 1 dagger if you play other Dragon Age games.

I always wanted that, but I don't think they do it. Is strange because we have a duel for Josephine in DA:I but we can't fight like that, I hope DA:4 comes with a "duelist" that teach us to use one single sword.

To be a swashbuckler, you need actually have a buckler to swash.

Arshel,I really don't like that duel for Josie as a cut scene.. At that point in the my mage would turn him into burnt toast or a ice wall before Josie could stop the duel. My mage has no sword skills.
Next game I'm trying a rogue.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
VodeAn19,I understand what you're asking for but, I fear they might cut a skill tree to make it happen and knowing my luck it would be the rogue skills.

You know what I mean (the term swashbuckler has been used even to describe single-wielders).To be a swashbuckler, you need actually have a buckler to swash.

Really? Even if we get away from the origin of the name, I would associate it with wielding a rapier and a parrying dagger.
Certainly not a single longsword.

Yeah, probably not the most exact term, but we did have single weapon proficiency back in Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, why not now?

VodeAn19, If I might speak (sorry couldn't resist
).
The rogue when properly built and equipped is one of the strongest fighters but,in building one must not waste any of the skill points on nonessential skills and continue to upgrade weapons and armor as they are found in the chests..
All three of my tank rogues( my warden,Leliana and Zevran) and Morrigan as a tanked mage takes out the AD in the majority of my games and this gang has no problems ripping through the carta in Orzammar or the cult in the temple. They slaughter the baddies in the back alley quest in Denerim and they slaughter the Crows that attempt killing the warden at Denerim.
I doubt if a single handed warrior would equal the power of a well built rogue.

Tidus, what I want is a single-wield rogue, in Origins a warrior with a single weapon was unthinkable as what made them efficient were weapon talents. However a rogue deals the most damage by backstabbing (well, in DAO at least).VodeAn19, If I might speak (sorry couldn't resist

If that single wield rogue could be tanked then I can see some possibilities.
BTW.. I free style fight.. I control my rogue and let the others fight on their own.. I seldom find the need to attack from behind since my rogues are hitting in the 60/70s and some low 80s after the return trip to Ostagar and the enchanting of King Calian's sword and Duncan's sword and dagger.

As a rogue, I always focus entirely on doing backstab damage, requiring to have a tank warrior (sword and shield) to draw unwanted attention from me, a healer and another melee rogue 'cause DOUBLE BACKSTABS (and 'cause its my favourite class to play). I see it viable (but if only I single-wield and the other rogue is DW, of course), I've tried it in Origins. If that single wield rogue could be tanked then I can see some possibilities.

I don't see the value in it.

You could say the same thing about dual-wielding.
I like the idea, however that would require some advantages of single weapon to make it reasonable to pick.

Maybe more damage to a single enemy, or a higher chance of critical hit, I don't know. You could say the same thing about dual-wielding.
