Humour, used correctly is great at making horrible subjects palatable. That you actually think I want to put you in a death camp when I rib you for playing the same SP games I obviously play myself, is.........I cant't decide between being hilarious or sad, but W/e.

Lighten up. Maybe try playing some ME3MP and listening to the glee of krogan laughter, the disdain of turian attitudes toward not following the Texbook like some kind of Amatuer, and the unintentional hilarity of hungry quarians preoccupied with the precarious state of their Soup and Banana rations? Always cheers me up.

In SP the rage will be there but the sales will still come in and the people will still play.  If we are honest around here this is not the case with multiplayer.

 

A trip to the Mass Effect MP section will show you there are still people playing.  They are still talking about the guns in the game and what mods to bring!  THAT is when you know that you've made a great game.  Many people fear ME3 MP was Bioware happening to catch lightning in a bottle.  The game is great for what it is and still is to this day.

 

If we now turn our attention to Dragon Age and Bioware's latest multiplayer game........yeah.  There were a few improvements made but really    A trip to that forum will show you people are saying the game is a ghost town and they can't find rooms (this was also my experience a while back the last time I tried to play).  Let's also not forget major issues such as the RTC not dying and literally breaking the game and the key glitch which also broke the game and these made it into the retail release even though the game was "tested".......

 

I love ME3MP.  I hope a game that good can be matched.

 

We don't have to speculate that it was lightning in a bottle. They made one good game in 16 years. If you were to put Valve and Bioware in a contest together, well that is very definition of a one horse race.

We should be able to 1v1 Shepards to resolve these kind of threads, & ME:A should have this feature of 1v1's with the main player character so we can create this new Thunder Dome E-Sports with Cheese-to-Cheese combat to bring us closer together through the hatred one, & another.

 

To be real tho, ME3MP did nothing but good things for the ME series, & The MP component of ME3 could make the combat only better in ME:A due to the devs having an easier time understanding of how their game is played. If they take all of they learned in ME3MP, combat will be pretty awesome in MP, & SP alike. (Insanity was a joke of a difficulty in ME3SP)

I hope that MP is not paramount but is useful. MP should be treated simply as an alternative way to play each SP mission for those who want to play with others instead of using squadmate AI. MP should not affect the storyline, availability of key upgrades, resource collection, and critical decisions.

 

It drove me nuts that ME-3 Extended Cut DLC was necessary to lower the EMS thresholds for SP ending options; that should never have happened. The Readiness Rating factor should have been narrowed to MP requirements only. I hope RR never rears its ugly face again. Let's see - I get both the quarian and geth fleets on board for the cause, but they're only worth half of their values? That's plain nuts - and this is what worries me if Andromeda MP is necessary to play it. It's a bridge too far for me.

I was worried about mp & me3 mp surprised me. I really enjoyed it & played nonstop for few months but even so i could care less if mea has mp or not. I play rpgs for the story, customizations & depth of gameplay you dont normally get from most other genres (shooters in particular).
Of course i know mea will have mp so hopefully its more me3 than damp.

You say that like maintaining 4 IPs is not a full time job. Where are all the abandoned games from 20 years ago now? I can hardly remember any of them, because they're dead. dead because they're abandoned. by the developers. TF2 on the other hand has it's origins in a quake mod, which has been redesigned many times, and has only gained popularity if anything.

 

with that said, Bioware needn't concern themselves with MP. There are at least 3 very well known (valve, firaxes, blizzard)and active developers, and all MP bases are more than covered with them around. there aren't enough hours in the day to commit to more than a few MP games per year, and a good SP game seldom lasts longer than one month

Even within those IPs they aren't making new games, and they aren't offering major updates to many of them anymore.

 

You're also noting how other developers have abandoned games while praising the company that has a meme around one of their games that seems to have completely vanished without a trace.

 

At this point BioWare is going to concern themselves with MP. As much as we want to make weekly threads on it, it's really not up for debate. It's going to happen to try and recapture what ME3 MP did.

MP exclusive love interest confirmed. Requirements to unlock need to be 200k+ score in gold or platinum with full 4 person squad. After completed, you need to get the UR lvl X unlock from the RNG store.

It must feel great.

 

I only have people fight over me in my dreams, and even then it isn't as deep.  It usually involves a kiddie pool and jello or pudding.  On a good note it usually ends in happiness and love/acceptance of everyone involved.

Multiplayers:  It will be a game primarily designed for the single player experience.

 

Singleplayers: It will have a firm commitment toward fans of multiplayer.

 

The people that enjoy both are the biggest winners.  Deal with it.
