Lol I asked for classes that can kill the dragon before it takes off.

Archer counts, I can give you that.

Virtuoso and Saarebas don't count I'm afraid, because you will have to stand below the tower and do your hits. :P As far as I know, even someone with 800+ willpower can't use those 2 classes to finish the dragon before it first takes off.

I don't have a clip of the Saarebas but I've done it on my scrub account multiple times...

Still can't bring myself to like the AW... everyone tells me I'm supposed to love it, just can't though... I'd rather Keeper any day

I feel a little ashamed every time I play AW and Silent Sis.  I play them because I need the promotions and they require almost no effort at all to play in Perilous.   Room boss no problem, let me get something heavy to hold down the left mouse button on my AW...and I will brb after pee.  I can't do that with any other classes.  I have a lot of fun with my keeper... in threatening. :P   My level 1 keeper could yolo threatening like Learnedhand's keeper in NM. ;)

Lol fair play, :D  but you know I didn't refer to "clever use of game mechanics" to force the dragon to stay on the floor...

Hah, this clip is super old. You don't have to use clever game mechanics to keep dragon down. We only had two DPS in this clip. Consistently kill it without a take-off in a full team.

Much more effective than one silent sister, imo...

Now, getting the Virtuoso to do this much damage is clever use of game mechanics...

Once you deal a certain amount of damage to the dragon, it will start trying to take off. Have 2 dps in the team to force the dragon to jump instead of fly away is indeed clever use of game mechanics by itself already.

SS can kill the dragon before he takes off because of exponential damage growth from throwing blades, and archer has leap shot spam + pincushion. One can do a dragon insta kill by themselves single handedly as long as they can get their damage to "explode" before the dragon finish taking off, and yes this don't always work and the damage window is very short. If you missed 1 second of damage output you might not be able to pull it off since that would mean at least 100k+ difference in your total damage output. That often is what makes the difference between an insta kill or needing an extra catapult shot.

And yes, I totally agree this is "clever use of game mechanics" as well  :P

It's hard until you learn how to chain up spinning blades and throwing blades. Spinning blades is even harder to chain up on the dragon because of his body size and might need to position yourself before hand. You also need to mix in some hidden blades too because that's a heavy hitter whilst you are hitting ferociously with spin/throwing blades :P

You can't afford to miss any of your spinning blades, and it's all about the last few hits just before the dragon dies / take off. Because the last 2 seconds you will dish out more damage than you did for the rest of the fight added together. The last 12 hits or so makes the real difference.

If executed well, the last few hits does approx 40 to 68k per hit and you will 1 shot the dragon when he still has at least 1/3 of its health left. If you miss 1 or 2 seconds, then the damage per hit will drop to about 20k, assuming no other mistakes. Not so good any more huh? Worst thing you can do is break that chain mid way, e.g. missed a spinning blade attack or dragon is out of your spinning blade's reach and you had to move over.

Oh, and dragon definitely won't jump in this scenario...

I have seen this thing.   The 2 of us ran straight to crank the trebuchets...I did like 4 maybe 5 cranks... and dragon was dead. :P    It was not really instakill.. more like 6 to 8 seconds?

It can be done with just the Virtuoso by breaking one of its legs before it takes off.  It's just not as reliabe as shown in the video.
