How does one go about preventing Kelly Chambers from melting?

I'm pretty sure you got to go on the suicide mission early. Because I had the option to go save them or wait and I decided to wait and it cost me some of the crew.

^ Yeah that seems to be it. I went through the Omega Relay as soon as I was able to and managed to save everyone.

i would think the thing to do is just make sure you're ready before theyre taken so you can head right out when it happens.
