By now, bioware has gave us a tease that we may go to tevinter in the next dragon age game with the trespasser DLC final scene.

Personally, I feel that they can make this story 20 years after the events of inquisition. If you think about it, it probably makes some sense to how they can develop the story. Examples thoughts being,

1) Our Warden could be dead at this point since most grey wardens don't live more that 30 years (DA:I is 10 years after DA:O). This gives some creative thought for the writers to completely kill off the warden. After all, can you imagine writing a character that had so many backgrounds and choices from the first game? And top of all that, make them show up and hope you didn't skip any choices from the first game through the keep?

2) The inquisitor building up resources. This could be a "Goldilocks" feel of building up a force in behind the scenes (if inquisition is peace keeping) or a secret spy network (if disbanded) to combat solas while our protagonist is doing their own thing. This is also a good amount of time for solas to get his final plans of destroying the veil and the world as well, to give off that desperation to stop solas at all cost.

3) Fresh off of the story. Since we're now going to heading for northern Thedas, it's like we really don't have to have every single little choice that we done in all three games to affect the north. DA:O - DA:I is all southern Thedas, and probably all the big major choices (and some minor choices) will affect how Tevinter is feeling about the state of the south. Plus you really don't have to connect many characters from the past, taking the ones that are likely to be in DA4 and build up a whole new group all together. Also many character will be too old by this point, with some being dead or will be dying really soon.

4) Two new major factions. Since Ferelden and Orlais we basically the two factions that dominated the background setting of the previous games (not counting the free marches since DA2 was only in kirkwall), we now have Tevinter and Par Vollen to deal with. Depending on who and what our characters are in this new story, we should at least say where our character is from during the events of DA4 (qunari citizen or tevinter slave??). This is also a great reason for two countries, after 20 years from DA:I, build up two huge armies to waste fighting each other. That way our protagonist has a reason to unite them to stop solas.

5) Molding Morrigan. This is possibly her shaping up to be the next "Flemeth" or rise of power during this center part of the Dragon Age timeline. Bioware left many things with her after DA:I. They should continue fleshing out her story onto DA4. Maybe have her as a center figure to help combat solas. And if Bioware does kill off the warden, this would be a great chance to "please" the fans for showing our dying warden one more time with morrigan (romanced or not).

So yea this is my opinion for what the next Dragon Age should hold. Bioware is busy with other games at this point, and they can have this post as a sticky note for the future. Throw out your thoughts on here as well everyone!

One more thing......

some people want the two sword warriors back. Just putting this out there, but what about either a tevinter slave (gladiator?) or a qunari vanguard warrior story backgrounds?? Just some thoughts.

*SPOILERS* - I doubt it needed to be said, but I'd hate to ruin anything for anyone... so yeah.

1) I think 20 years is a bit much, while I do see the possible need to 'get rid' of the warden. Though I would be interested to see if the warden's research into getting rid of the taint proved fruitful. I rather expected something of the architect to appear in inquisition, so I wonder if something with him will reappear in the next game. There were so many different options though in origins that it boggles my mind to think of them trying to interpret each choice in the fourth installment... I could see them killing the warden to simplify things. 20 years is just... a rather large gap and it would mean writing off more characters than just the warden that I'm just not sure I'm okay with.

2) I really hope its in Tevinter. I've had conversations with people who argue for it to take place in Nevarra or Par Vollen, but personally I think Tevinter is the best place. Especially when you consider that in order to stop Solas, we will need some kind of magical compensation (the elf can now turn people to stone with a single glance... we're going to need some major back up). The idea of starting of three main character options: elvhen slave, human mage, and qunari are all tantalizing options... though I can't really see a dwarven story line (I can't see it, but that doesn't mean one surly couldn't be found). I wouldn't mind a gladiator or vanguard warrior options. There's a lot of directions it could go and I'd like to see them bring back more of the unique story beginnings like in Origins.

3) One of the major choices I think will be factored in will be whether or not Dorian went back to Tevinter and took his father's place in the magisterium. Having a magister ally could be invaluable plus, it'd give all kinds of access into the world of Tevinter, which I'm really eager for. Along with that, I agree that there needs to be some consequences for either disbanding the inquisition or retaining it as a peacekeeping force. While the inquisitor may have lost their arm, I doubt very seriously that their part in the story is over... and I fully anticipate them being involved in some way, whether as a sort of adviser or a party member (Dagna could totally build an awesome new hand for the inquisitor, we all know it). Plus there will probably be a factor on who drank from the well of sorrows. If it was Morrigan, her possible descent into becoming the new Flemeth... if it was the inquisitor their access to Solas that no one else has (I mean... if Mythal is now inside of Solas, does that mean that he is in control of the inquisitor/Morrigan?) I can see them bringing back a number of characters that could fit into this scenario, Dorian, Fenris, the Iron Bull, maybe even Anders (assuming these characters lived in your playthrough).

4). I noticed your theory lacked for an alternative for fighting Solas... I would like to see however small the opportunity to save that egg headed bastard. I had the... 'misfortune' of romancing him on my first playthrough and I cannot bear to think of him dying in anyway (by my own hand or someone elses). I know my Lavellan well enough to know that if the new character was intent on killing him, she'd be right there to stand in the way: which could increase the pain and tragedy tenfold which we know Bioware loves to do to us (especially for their fans stuck in solavellan hell). I mean... forcing us to choose between Alistair and Hawke? No. No...no no no no. (Though I can see Hawke finding his/her way out of the fade alive than Alistair, my adorable little idiot). This brings the question of if we are certain that Solas is going to be the next villain. I know some people seem convinced on this, but I'm not. For example there's the very real possibility that Solas's actions release the evanuris, and he joins with the new hero to stop them: potentially earning his right to live happily ever after with the Lavellan? Maybe? The new information released in Trespasser feeds into this idea I think, and it'd be really interesting to see this elvhen pantheon rising up to reclaim Thedas for the elves. Imagine... not one Corypheous but... Andruil, Dirthamen, Elgar'nan, Falon'din, Ghilan'nain, June, and Sylaise? (assuming they'd all be wanting revenge on Fen'Harel for locking them away). That'd be one huge epic battle, or maybe dividing them up in to different sectors so you have to travel to find where a particular evanuris is building their base. I hope they consider this option at the very minimum, I think it would prove more exciting than for an expected Fen'Harel villain story. (Note: I realize I may sound like a total fan girl, but I don't care. Leave Solas alone. Leave him alone!!! I beg you!!)

In all honesty there's so many directions it could go but I know that some of these I really really hope they do. I'm so anxious for this next game, I almost wish there was the opportunity for a new DLC, even though I know its impossible after Trespasser. I eagerly await any and all information from Bioware. I know there's some staff changes going on that may slow the process down, but since I've read that Solas had been an intended character for a long time I'd like to think they already have something big planned. I've replayed the game multiple times trying to pick up on any and all hints that may give me more insight as to the direction the DA4 will entail. :)
