Has anyone seen any insults within official Bioware publications regarding his illegitimacy, when player choices lead to a 'King Alistair'? I'd have thought that the Orlesians would be forever referring to the 'Bastard King', but I can't recall seeing anything.

I realise that the issue is of less importance in Thedas than it was in medieval times, but Alistair does refer to himself as a bastard in DA:Origins - I just wondered if anyone else does.

I think there might be one errant remark regarding Alistair's illegitimacy somewhere in either DA2 or DAI, but I really have no idea where. I also don't think it was made by an Orlesian or with such colorful language, but rather as a side, off-hand remark. Or hell, it may even be in the comics.

But again, this is just in the recesses of my brain and I'm not at all sure that it's accurate.

I don't think I've heard any nobles commenting on his heritage or anything, but apparently King Alistair's codex entry states that his rule was troubled because some thought that the story about him being Maric's son was made up to usurp the throne. Though the main problem here seems to be not him being a bastard, but him appearing out of nowhere when the throne became vacant.
