Hi!

I got this kit so I checked some builds and videos. I've seen one from Invaderone playing a PUG GOld with this kit, skipping out Biotic Slash. So it was BC, PD and occasional shooting.

I made a similar build, but instead of R6 on passive, I went 3 ranks on BS.

I am completely aware that my skill level is way below of Invaderone's, but the char didn't not seem as strong as in the video. I had the impression that I was not able to do as many PDs as Invaderone did. Might be impression only.

I specced PD same as him, with 50% less cost on casting it...

that video is from 1 year after ME3 launch, so I assume 2013. Did they change the kit after that?

Now you are speaking my language   .. I consider the Slayer 2be my signature character

                1st thing is 1st.......

You must be hosting to maximize his phase disruptor-charge combo    ... this is my build:  http://kalence.drupa...!24N52364!A0.EG

There are a few things I want to chime in on ...1st..the Cyclonic.... I really enjoy banging heads with brutes & scions    ..I have tried power amps..and I don't notice a difference in terms of damage output power-wize  ..the same amount of phase disruptor blasts kill the same as they do with a cyclonic..so might as well tank him out.....

As for the final evo..for weapon damage in N7 Slayer tree....ehhh, I kinda go back and forth with that & putting the last 6 points into the 1st 3 ranks of Biotic Slash...but I forget to use it (which is funny considering Im using the Scanner)

also, as for Radius ranks in Disruptor & Biotic Charge...why I don't use them is I found myself killing things so fast that it really didn't matter....

The on-host Acolyte Slayer is by far one of the highest damage outputting characters in this game...It takes awhile to get used to getting into a certain type of rhythm, but if you do...you will really enjoy being this character...

My advice...for Phase Disruptor...fire it at the feet of the enemy..certain things like Atlases are easier to hit..i.e. a praetorian..so on...Just fire Acolyte shot- charge-(fire explosion) fire the disruptor until empty--charge again

It was XBox and I don't think that guy cheats.

Thanks for stating the obvious :P

I go for Radius only on BC. I find it useful to clear out spawns. Haven't tried a Cyclonic on it. Might help.

Ok, then it's not a nerf :P

But I will count how many can invaderone do and how many I can do.

You should be able to get 5 out with a full barrier iirc (damn, I've forgotten so much about this game). The only possible reason for not being able to get that many out is you not having a full barrier.

You remember correctly. Base PD uses 40% of barrier, and with the Efficient Blast evo it uses half that. But off-host, as we all know, BC normally doesn't give back 100% barrier, and often gives back nothing at all.

Throw a Scorpion on him with either disruptor ammo or Incendiary, Between that and PD + Biotic Charging non stop you stagger anything and everything and can flip out of danger at a single leap. Play on host for max BC and take 6a Bonus power,

Be aggressive and you will be rewarded.

1. HOST

2  Talon

3. Shield Recharge Cells

4. Geth Scanner

5. Incendiary ammo or Distruptor ammo

6. Go all out.

N7. (optional) - for complete badasses - spec for 50% chance of no cooldown on Charge and get a chance to charge many times in a row.

Since Talon was way too easy for me I went with a Piranha only - http://kalence.drupa...53N53364!F03BGG

Abuse the teleport through walls to avoid damage, and don't forget that your light melee gives you 85% damage redution so you can basically tank turrets.

No disrespect for Nightman and Deerber for liking this kit, but I always feel dirty after each on host Gold match I play with him. Maybe he's much better as a Platinum only kit.

I don't own a Talon yet. Went for Phalanx.

I never take Shield Recharge Cells on Vanguards. Why do you recommend this?

My guess would be that gear, experience, and equipment probably account for the differences.

Level V gear can have a huge impact. I don't know what he would have been using, but it was probably well chosen.

Level III and IV equipment is a big step up from level I and II. This could account for an increase in shields if he was using a Cyclonic, thus an increase in availability and versatility for PD.

Experience with small windows of timing can have a huge impact on performance. It's a different kind of example: reload-canceling only represents a very small difference in timing, but experience will show you that the difference has a huge impact over the course of a match. I'm not a slayer expert, but someone using one well can probably squeeze those extra crucial moments to reach thresholds.

He was using the power dmg gear (Mental something) V, power amp V. So the focus was damage. He also aimed very quickly and got rid of spawns very fast. My aim corsshair is slow. Can't find a place to configure that...

Anyway, the characters seems pretty cool but needs practice, as it seems.

^ There is an option for curser aiming speed (camera sensitivity I think it's called). Good aiming is not required with PD either due it's high radius. I also usually aim at the feet or ground of mooks too.

Hmm that would be in Main Menu (outside MP)? I'll try to search for it next time I'm online.

The thing is not so much the aim, but the speed I can rotate the screen and disrupt mooks.

I notice that PD is quite peculiar as it's instantaneous and is not auto guided, so even if the mook is highlighted, I sometimes miss as it's not in a straight line from me.

I can try to do what you do: aim for the feet.

Because you will not always be charging. And Shield Cells will help a lot with your shield recharge to use with Phase Distruptor.

I think you can also access that menu in lobby or pre lobby menu by pressing X button. As well as in match too via pause menu if I'm not mistaken?

But yes, you always want that setting maxed. If you ask me, the max setting should of been faster too.

Most host dependent kit in the game.

On host PD build Slayer (with an Acolyte) may be the most powerful single kit in the game .. it's that powerful

Use a light weapon with Incendiary or disruptor ammo

Isn't Shield Power Cell meant to reduce the shield recharge delay? My BC cd is shorter than the shield delay. even if it would be a bit shorter, is it really worth the milliseconds?

Base shield recharge delay is 4 seconds.

3.4s with rank 5b of Fitness.

2.2s with Shield Power Cells III.

3.4s - 2.2s = 1.2s, a *very* noticeable difference.

I've never actually done it (because Geth Scanner is so good) but you could stack Multicapacitor V on as well to get the shield recharge delay down to 1.6s. Hmm. Now I kind of want to try that! 1.6s is insanely fast.

Yeah I checked kalence and saw that I can get 2.2 sec.

My BC cd is 3.08. So that's almost 1 second. On Gold it's make difference indeed.

So I could vary between Power Eff, Cyclo and Shield Boost...

Tks!

And although Biotic Slash has an aggravating, slow-casting animation and is especially annoying to endure when spammed, it's still a perfectly viable utility.

Considering Kerry King is a power-based vanguard (I'm sure plenty of others named their N7 Slayers the same), I don't see much value in going beyond rank 5 for passives and fitness -- unless going for sword/melee boosts.  So my BS goes up through 4a-Damage.

Slash is a versatile detonator, does outstanding damage to armor -- when you're out of PD barrier juice, and can effectively 'herd' your PD victims into group.  Plus you need something to do between shooting and PDs during a hack/escort.
