The point is the Venom solves everything,
Agreed. (points to sig)
If you have venom, use it OP because then you can stagger enemies in 3 diff ways. Stagger on top of stagger with a side of stagger.

Since the challenge system has trolled me into trying to complete every character (you and t-raks suffered the consequences last night when you were treated to my lamentable attempts to DrellGuard!) I have recently been playing a lot of Volus kits. and I pugged into a game with a Slayer, who soon caught on to the fact that we could have some fun by teaming his PD with my shield boost. The open hack on Giant was quite fun like that, nothing got near us at all.
We should have let you nap on the floor, given the temptation the reactor button presented to you. I had to vent it once to avoid any further "accidents".
But yeah, team up that duo with a nice primer kit and it's a trio of death.
Yeesh, thread exploded and I'm too lazy to read it, but I don't get the hate for Shield Power Cells here. On a character whose shields *are* his ammo, restoring shields faster is awesome.
Regarding Power Amp...
If you put every +power/damage boost possible(*) on the N7 Slayer then Phase Disruptor does 900 damage, or 1060 after a charge.
(*) Phase Disruptor 4a, Biotic Charge 5b, N7 Slayer (Passives) 4b/5a, Pistol Power Magnifier
Note, I wouldn't actually take some of these power evolutions.
Add on Power Amp IV this goes up to 1100 damage or 1260 after a charge. Extra 200 damage worth it vs. a 1.2 second faster shield recharge? Or 750 more barriers if you took Cyclonic IV instead? Not to me, but what do I know.
Hey, I wanna have some of that treat too!
I'd be embarrassed to attempt to Drellguard in front of you
But I'd love to see how it should be done, live as it were.
Also, I'm reading this thread to try to pick up Slayer tips because I have to do extractions with this character. I see gameplay where he rocks, and this contrasts strongly with my view of him, which is that I'm permanently in spectator mode.... ![]()

Look, you guys ran into the reactor like a pair of eager tryhard pugs. And I stood there and thought really hard about it for about 153 ms, and then I realized this might be the only chance ever to get both of you in the reactor at the same time. So, although I didn't want to do it, I had to. I'm sure you understand ![]()

And I didn't even have a proper character to teabag you! The Justicar will remember this, that's for sure.
Have you tried (or did anybody suggest) a Melee Build with him?
http://kalence.drupa...!34Q56364!A0.E0
His light melee is amazing. (not his heavy melee, that's why I've speced in Shield Recharge)
You have constant Dmg Reduction. As long you are light meleeing you are as good as invulnerable.
Mooks: Acolyte (strip shields) -> Charge (detonate FE) -> Light Melee everything to death
Bosses: PD (until empty) -> Charge (refill) -> Dodge Back ... and repeat (you can shoot with the SMG, if you wanna carry one)
[EDIT] Perhaps it is not the most powerful build, ... but it is my most favorite Melee Build.
-- And I don't like Melee at all.

Light melee build is too slow at killing.

but it looks cool, ... imo he has a sword on his back, ... so he should use it. ![]()
Fury LM looks way better. (But kinda sucks, too)

It looks cool definitely
But I just tank turrets with it or troll some Nemesis to death ![]()
Acolyte with incendiary ammo and power amp (strip and prime), charge (FE), PD, PD = its dead. Rinse and repeat. Hurricane for bosses with PD.
Light melee is slow -- but fun! (some like it slow, no?)

I volunteer!
I would really love to join you for some Slayer games, or as Deerber said, I wanna have some of that treat too! ![]()
To my knowledge, he hasn't been nerfed since Invader posted said video. I've noticed a few select friends that I play with now who are absolutely a beast when rockin the Slayer. I honestly might give em a shot. He looks like a fun character to roll as.
Play him on host to guarantee fast Disrupters.
was just about to type this...thanks. Yeah a very 'host dependent' kit to be sure OP.
Lots of great advice! My two cents regarding survavibility is to time PD for constant stagger, and to learn to love that teleport dodge, which can get you out of nasty spots, and around corners, and into another room ![]()
In my opinion, while the Slayer is indeed a beast on his own merits, he can be an extremely valuable asset to any team. He makes for a fantastic medic, he can tank almost anything, he can distract pesky units, and he can detonate anything - perfect for going pugging, and inevitably ending up with a mixed bag of biotic/tech primers. Most engineers provide good synergy; he complements BatSols incredibly well, since they can't detonate their own FEs, and both kits work well at close range.
For more lore-friendliness, pairing a Slayer with a Paladin makes for a very very strong combo - highly suggested if you are trying to learn the ropes, or just want to destroy everyhing ![]()

Why would you be? A DrellGod cannot be bad, ever, in any way, by any means ![]()
Next time we play, we play DrellGod
Although there can only be one each game, otherwise the lag fucks the other up the game will burst from too much awesomeness ![]()
I can also show you around the Slayer. He's definitely one of my best kits ![]()

How about testing the awesomeness of three, or even four Slayers someday? I would be in. ![]()

keep your venom.
I used, still use, and will continue to use the falcon with disruptor ammo with the slayer.
Drellguard is OP. Why is this even a question.

Let us know when you're online then ![]()
BTW, our host is pretty lag free even for people at large distance, and it's been known to work for several vanguards at a time.
N7 Slayer got nerfed? BioWare must really love us?... Oh wait, TGI Harrier. Nvm...
