Eh, no.  If they did it to you automatically then on subsequent playthroughs it would get old reallll quick.

Plus you just know that if it was a guy SO many ppl would get butt hurt about it.   There are still guys who are traumatized from Anders coming on the them.

No, there is plenty creepy about it. I'm telling you, I am creeped out by it. I find it unsettling and says some really uncomfortable things about Liara's mental state, that she is indeed OBSESSED with Shepard, and more specifically with the myth of Commander Shepard, rather than the person who wore that armor. Wrex wanted his family armor, but he wasn't displaying it publicly for anyone to see, he just wanted to have it for him personally. Liara puts it on display in her living room, right across from the big ass window for anyone to see if they fly by or if they stop by for a chat.

The whole creepy socially retarded school girl aspect of her in ME1 was offputting as well. Thankfully, we have Ash for those of us to who prefer a more proper woman with spunk and aren't into such nerd bait pandering.

People often keep mementos of friends or relatives who have died. It is a fairly normal and common reaction to grief. We also know it is not unusual for an asari to keep mementos. The armor is a relic from Shepards battles. Shepard is the saviour of the galaxy keeping his armor is the equivalent of having the space age Excalibur ;)

How many people do you know keep armor as a momento of someone they knew? And why would the asari take the armor from Shepard's corpse if he/she said they would throw the asari in the volcano? She has serious head problems. I would like to hear the answer from BioWare why that was done. Heck ask the asari herself. I bet she will have a case of lockjaw or suffer from cat-got-your-tongue syndrome.

If the asari keep momentos like that, BioWare may want to put an asterisk for the asari saying that at times the asari are known to take armor from dead bodies and display them like some kind of trophy

Over the last few days, this guy has been coming into my work and talking to me. At first, I thought he was just friendly, but I started suspecting something when he began to compliment me saying "You're a really good looking guy." He then proceded to come in and brought me a gift and left his phone number. I never contacted him as this was very awkward for me.

In ME:A can we have a crew or random secret admirer that continually tries to persuade us into loving them? What would best work if said LI was an opposing sexuality as you, trying to convince you that they can turn you?

Maybe you're giving off that type of vibe and you don't even know it.  Putting an end to painting your nails would be a good start.

Where'd you even come up with that kind of advice? So all gay men now paint their nails?

Don't be such a bigot.

Come on, that word has such a negative connotation. Let's use loving pursuer.

Indeed.

Do her while she's still warm bro.

Bro, I don't even own a shirt, let alone a Hawaiian one.

Hawaiian shirts are on par with gray sweat pants

That's your problem then. Bioware can't include stupid dialogue just to make every vocal minority happy.

So what? Liara has respect for what Shepard represents (humanity's champion, the only one that can probably stop the Reapers, etc.) but she also has respect for Shepard the person that exists beyond all of that. That isn't creepy either. I think it's clear that Liara's mission in Redemption was her way of showing some final respects towards both the figure that is Shepard and the person that lies underneath. I think what she did was quite honorable, and it's really irritating when people trivialize it by calling her 'obsessed' or 'crazy'.

I consider it very much a case of your  mileage may vary since I see it as understandable why some might think it not odd while others would consider it to be quite a bit and more odd.

Personally to me, I feel there is a difference in what and how you keep what you remember someone by. Keeping objects like clothing, photographs, recordings of their voice and such is one thing but I feel it is another to keep the broken torso of the armor in which said someone quite painfully died in and put it in a glass case on display in a living room.

This made worse to me since Liara was a stranger to a Shepard of mine and that Shepard would not have liked to have found that a stranger made a display like this in their living room. I've played Shepards who have been friends with Liara but who were still uncomfortable with this. One was outright angry at her for it because of what it looked like to her with it being in a display case in the living room. She'd have considered it one thing for Liara to keep the armor somewhere private but something else for Liara to keep it on display the way she did.

Basically, It may be that Liara genuinely means it as a way of honoring Shepard and conveying her respects but that does not mean that some player nor their Shepard would be silly to be uncomfortable with her way of doing so. You may consider an option to talk about it with her as stupid but I see dialogue discussing it as being way to deal with some of the unfortunate implications and uncomfortabilities some players and some Shepards may see and feel about it.

The last time Bioware wrote a potential LI making the first move--in a DA game--a lot of posters expressed just as profound a discomfort with the situation as you  feel Bunz. The reaction amongst the developers was to say that they probably wouldn't make repeat that with a similar situation.

It's a bit of a shame, imo, because the idea of an LI would expresses interest first is appealing to me, but I suppose it's prudent of them. Especially considering there are still so many people in the fan base who consider Liara's polite infatuation to be an example of crazy disturbed stalking.

The Liara armor thing is a little creepy (unless you did the romance), but no moreso than the killbot platform that literally wears your old armor like some psychotic skin suit from a dead victim. Now that I think about it, we basically already got a creepy salker with Legion(it literally stalks Shep from Eden Prime onwards), though there's plenty of sickos that would've tried to bang it given half a chance, I'm sure.

Yeaaaa.... sure you could dig crazy deep or you could simply argue that Bioware intended Liara to sort of be the default romance or if anything the friend who stays until the end. I'm guessing that's one of the main reasons why they didn't put her up in the suicide mission because they wanted her to be there no matter what in the final charge.

It's impossible to kill her off (until the very last moment when you run to the beam), other squad member who were in ME1 or ME2 or both could be killed off before hand. So they really wanted her to stay in the game. I think that's pretty much all this is.

unwanted or not as a team member and ally fighting and dying with them you should offer your body to them if that is what they need.  It's not a lot to ask and its the right thing to do in that situation.  As long as you explain it will never be serious or one of you might die then take care of each others needs. Even if there is an "opposing sexuality"

I find it funny to call someone who has such a hard on for quarians to call others sickos :D

I agree though the weird fetishes here run deep

I wish more LIs would make the first step, it would make things easier in some regard.

Liara was okay. The moment you told her you're not interested she backed off. Sure, she sometimes let it show that she cared deeply about Shepard but that's not a bad thing. What makes her unstable is her psycho killer persona, not her non-existent stalking.

If only I had the hardware for hard-ons......

Anyway, sickos to refer to any such "people" is being generous I think.  Ever see Kirk try to get it on with a sex/gender-less piece of malfunctioning agricultural equipment (If the geth server propaganda film's to be believed)? Precisely.

I bet he'd love to embrace eternity or taste some quarian sweat tho.

Legion romance? NTY! And Liara was kind of creepy, I think she was developed for the straight male shep because she does seem to cross the friendship line a few times.

What would be funny is if the Illusive man or admiral Hackett was a pervo and flirted with you bordering on sexual harrassment.

I had to read that twice. The first time I was like "Ehem...what?"

Whatever if I had to choose I'd choose the former (because it's not just sticking your dick in some interstellar meat, must be like a sick acid trip) but I highly doubt that even the sickos would be that into it when such a live form actually would touch down in your back yard. Fantasy and something happening in reality are vastly different.
