Should console versions run at 30fps again?

getting all nostalgic here. Thing is you adapted to current gen more i guess. Im a grumpy old man stil saying back in my day 8 bit graphics were HiRez.


At least you don't have to adjust the tape volume anymore to ensure things loaded.
Kids nowadays don't know their born etc.

The difference really is like night and day. Once you go 60 fps, you don't want to go back. It's beautiful.

I just want the game to function as well as possible.  30 fps is probably the safer bet, but whatever works I'm good.

If you're concerned about function, then you want higher framerate.

There is no visual or interactive difference between 59 fps and 30 fps.

 

What? There is a clear difference. Go to any YouTube video displaying 50 FPS video, open the video twice in seperate windows and compare 1080p 50 FPS to 480p 30FPS.

No it isn't. It's an objective, observable fact that higher framerates (at multiples of 30) not only animate better than lower framerates, but also actually play better due to reduced input lag. Higher framerates offer both form AND function.
