Frame rate in these games is already pretty decent. Unless your GPU is ancient or something.

C'mon EA you're all about the cash grabs. Remaster the ME trilogy for modern PCs and consoles.

They are and they don't have to do a thing to get that extra money. The Mass Effect games will be hitting the backward compatibility services of Microsoft and Sony's consoles before long. Then just as with Red Dead: Redemption from Rockstar, EA will see the sales of the Mass Effect Trilogy skyrocket as people rush to buy copies.

It's the same with the PC. Why bother with a remaster when the brilliant modding community has already done it for them.

I was messing around with MSI Afterburner yesterday and was looking at the frame rate for the games (among other things) and it stayed solidly at 60fps in all the sections I tried. Going to try the Hot Labs sometime today as that where I see stutter.

Oddly in all three games the frame rate drops to the 30s while at loading screens.

That's normal. The loading screen is a pre-rendered movie (*.bik file). As well as other movies in the game.

There is still a lot of low resolution textures in the game. Although it could have been avoided by developing the game for PC first, then stripping things down to run on consoles.

It's kind of like wasting money shooting a TV show on video tape (at a fixed resolution), when film produces much higher resolution and allows you to strip it down if you need to. It does cost more money than video tape though. In this case, you could have HD PC (4096x4096, 2048x2048), standard definition PC (1024x1024), and low resolution consoles (512x512, 256x256, 128x128, etc). This is of course for last-gen consoles and games like ME1-ME3. With more video RAM, they don't have to strip it down as much.

Some games that are made for PC first, console second, really don't need to be remastered. For example Max Payne 3 has four times the texture resolution on PC than on consoles.

I'd love to get a ps4 version of mass effect.
