I just got Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC, and my god, with double buffed v-sync, tress fx, and everything else on and maxed out this has to be the most gorgeous and best graphiced game out-to-date. It just kinda got me thinking, man if Andromeda is on the Frostbite engine and still over a year away, I really hope it looks as good as this game. If the graphics are just as good, with improved mouth animations, and amazing story, crew, etc. We're looking at GOTY 2016.
Game Graphics in comparison.

Ponytail? Please BioWare still can't even manage giving proper short hair and facial hair, let alone something like real ponytails lol

Maybe they've been approaching this the wrong way round. If they start with ponytails they'll have something interesting to work towards, once they've achieved that they can take what they know to make the short hair and facial hair look good. Or at least as good as something as dull and lifeless as facial hair can look.

The graphics should be far better than anything we have seen out of Bioware to date, simply because its the first time that they haven't had to adapt for last gen consoles.
That said, its a different kind of game than Tomb Raider. Hair has always been something Bioware didn't mind sacrificing to gain resources in other areas. Its never a matter of "Can they do it?", but more of a "Do you want this X to look 100%, or do you want to include A, B, and C as well?"

It was pretty good but nothing that special. Facial textures for example still aren't that good. Among a couple of other things.
And that's a 2013 game mind you
Yes but it's also Crysis ... and that doesn't count ![]()

" ... yeah, but can it run Crysis?"

A 2013 Crysis game is basically a 2018 anything else game in terms of visuals.
but yeah, I'd love to see better visuals for the whole head region of characters. Especially the hair.

Well that's what happens when you develop for the PC! But then again even at that point they designed some of it for the console release in mind. Last true PC game was Crysis 1.

Even Skyrim had helmet hair.

I always enjoyed the graphics in ME series. So I think BioWare will do just fine with them. Just hope it's in 1080p on console.

I'll settle for some hair that actually has a little bit of animation and doesn't look like something from a PS2 game.

I am not stating that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not look as good as Battlefront; only that Battlefront did set the bar pretty high.

Crazy hair physics are unecessary. I just want it to look good.
Pony tails that have basic bobbing physics (like battlefront) is all we need.

Right now, Battlefront's graphics are styling over every other game created. The lighting, shadows, and everything else looks like... not reality... actuality. Even the ship's in the skyboxes look as though they are actually physically there.
I am not stating that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not look as good as Battlefront; only that Battlefront did set the bar pretty high.
Seen it in 4k? It's good but not that great either.

Consoles can't do 4k. I doubt it will even be 1080p. If it is then it's only 30 fps.

ROTR is probably the best looking game out there right now. It's the first time I fired a title up that was clearly several notches above last gen. Neither TW3 nor Arkham Knight managed this imo. It's clearly future proofed, which is both good and bad for PC users, but all good for console users. It should look stellar on PS4. Also, pure hair looks better and runs far smoother than Nvidia's amateur attempts at hair simulation. The main reason for the gap I suspect is TR being a fraction of the size of the other games I listed, which means it's a good indicator of what smaller, more focused games are capable of.
edit- I'll even venture it looks better than Battlefront.

They can't even do a series of three games without ruining the enjoyment of the entire saga with a terrible third game. I hope KotOR never suffers such fate.
