So I just want some clarifications: which abilities cannot crit?
The bad ones.
Pronto, and I guess technically Gya, are on point.
As a rule of thumb, if it does DoT, it can't crit. There are exceptions to that rule due to the balancing done to the Necromancer. I know that Walking Bomb can crit, but I am not sure if Horror and Spirit Mark were also made to crit or it they were left alone.
Here are all the ones I can think of that do not crit:
- Toxic Cloud
- Chain Lightning (on secondary hits)
- Wall of Fire
- Blizzard
- Ring of Pain
- Curse of Shokasit
- Cool Beats
- Horror (probably)
- Spirit Mark (probably)
Now, if we do as Gya did, and include active abilities that do not do damage, then the list gets bigger.
- Frost Flask
- Fire Flask
- Horn of Valor
- Knockout Bomb
- Barrier
- Mindblast
- Veilstrike
- Pull of the Abyss
- Knockout Powder
- Fallback Plan
- Stealth
- Rage of the Avvar
- Shield Wall
- Livid
- Ice Mine
- Combat Roll
- Challenge
- To The Death
- Disruption Field
- Dispel
- War Cry
- Walking Fortress
- Rampage
- Saar-Taar Shield
- Ring of Asaaranda
- Glyphs of Aqun
- A Little Knight Music
- Battle of the Bands
- Bolstering Ballad
- Sing Along
- Mark of the Riff (although I guess when the people that are buffed with it crit on something the extra elemental damage probably does crit as well, so maybe...)
Detonators: Yes, I think? Meaning higher the damage done to create the detonator = higher detonation damage
Detonators certainly crit. No way to get 30K wombo combo or 10K shatters without all that crit damage from the hakkon weapons. I guess an ungodly amount of willpower will do it too, but by that point you would certainly also have guaranteed crit chance and hakkon weapons.
I am fairly certain that even though some detonators can't crit, the combo detonated by them can (e.g. Mindblast on a sleeping enemy causes Nightmare, Dispel on stunned enemy causes Wombo). Also of note is that one passive (Stormbringer) can also crit.
