my roommate is in Seattle right now looking at grad schools, random side note, I'll have to see what she thought of it when she gets back.
Its probably a little too out there for me, but that's cause I'm just a straight laced stick in the mud

Oh have her to go the Seattle Japanese Garden. Their seasonal opening is tomorrow. I moved here in '09, but I don't partake in any of the culture or scene stuff; I'm a rather boring, homebody person irl. As a gamer, I probably should at least go to the main PAX event every year, but that is of course $$, and my gaming interests are so narrow that it seems like a waste of 90% of the content that a con has to offer.
I'm from Miami and cold all the f-ing time. And I still miss Publix (a grocery chain in the southeast). ![]()
So Seattle is the place to be? I am planning on travelling to the US eventually, maybe this summer, but i need suggestions as to where i should go. The East Coast seems Interesting enough, maybe Boston or New York. Guide me!

do you want food sites, museums, what?

Personally, I think the East Coast is the best place if it's your first trip to the US, but I'm biased having lived my entire life on the east. The Northeast, in particular, is a great starting point. There's a ton of history since it was where the first European settlements were located. Philly, Boston, and NYC have some of the U.S.'s oldest historic buildings (minus the Native American structures you might find across the country. This part of the country has some of the best food (NYC and D.C., in particular, are fantastic "foodie" towns). And there's a really great variety of ecosystems and nature to experience here. The coastal areas of new England (Maine is gorgeous), the Adirondacks, the Chesapeake Bay. And, of course, NYC is one of the cultural capitals of the world, with Broadway and some of the best museums. If you are a history and/or science buff, then the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan is a must-see. It's one of the top notch facilities in the world.
But that's just my biased opinion. I've been all across the country (I've done multiple East --> West Coast drives and just did an Alaska --> New York drive last year) and, while there are definitely strengths to all of the areas, nothing tops the NE for me. I will admit that I've never been to the Pacific Northwest, though, which is where you'd find Portland Oregon and Seattle Washington. It's on my bucket list, however, because that part of the country is very closely aligned to my personal ideologies (very liberal and eco-conscious) and it's also supposed to be a beautiful part of the country. However, if I had to say the most gorgeous nature in the US? Hands down, it's Alaska. I'm a conservationist, so nature isn't a new thing for me. When I flew into Alaska last year, I literally had my jaw drop as we descended out of the cloud cover and I could see the landscape. Breathtakingly beautiful. The only problem (in my opinion) is that it's in Alaska..... And for those who aren't familiar with US geography, that's the part of the US that's far to the north and attached to Canada and it's the place where people elected Sarah Palin into public office..... (no offense to any Alaskans in the group
)
^ You drove from Alaska to New York? God, and I thought Miami to Seattle was insane. I took a roundabout way and went up the east first and drove along the entire Blueridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, in the fall too -- totally, completely gorgeous, and my first real experience with seasonal changes. After arriving in NY, the winter started coming on and we were concerned we might have bad weather in the Rockies, compounded by anxiety due to limited snow driving experience, so we hauled ass directly west after that point.
I would agree with the East Coast for a first-time US visit, especially if you stay in the more compact Northeast. The interstate system makes visiting New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, etc a breeze.
^ You drove from Alaska to New York?
I sure did. A buddy of mine moved up there a few years ago and when he and his wife were moving back, he asked me to help him with the drive. They had a 3 year old and his wife was pregnant with their daughter, so she didn't want to do the trip. And his new job was offering a relocation package, so he was able to cover my flight up there and the costs (gas, hotels, meals, etc.) for the whole trip. So basically, I got a free, all expense paid to Alaska and then an international cross-continent road trip for free provided that I shoulder half of the driving, which is never a problem for me because I love road trips. We ended up going through Anchorage, the Yukon Territory, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The whole thing was 4500 miles and took us about 4 1/2 days because we did two overnight drives (the first and last days). It was grueling but an amazing way to see the countries!
I'm gonna plug my own biased position in then, come down to the South. Its not like every tv show ever has tried to depict it, we aren't all sitting on our porches cleaning shotguns while waiting for the next lynching and ranting at the gays and mexicans. Stay out of the boonies and you'll do fine.
Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans are all great food places with lots of history as well.

What magical part do you live in? That's pretty much how it is over where I am only toss in some bringing guns to school for hunting and it be totally okay to car jack if it's 'just a joke' and you're related to one of the bigger families. Oh and swap Mexicans for democrats.
Then again never been to any of those places so maybe it's just where I live, which hopefully is the case.
There is some weird sh*t going on in this Solas thread, and I can't tell if some of these folks are serious, or not. o_O

Probably serious, unfortunately. I feel like people take their fandom abit to serious from time to time. I like alot of things and geek out about them, but i still live on planet Earth.

I feel like another "BSN in a nutshell" video is long overdue.
We gathered so many modern classics since the last one came out like "hot chocolate beauty," "but she's not really black," "don't let male Ryder ride anyone," "bisexuality is a game mod," "give us a blonde bimbo," and now "let us commit genocide."

That must have been awesome. I don't know much about the places in US, but from the photos of Canada I've seen, Yukon and BC are gorgeous

It also seems like there are people in the MEA nudity thread that want to see a fully rendered, mobile, articulated penis, as if that could be done in some way that would not look ridiculous, or saddle the game with an unsellable AO rating.
I mean, sure, we have those Skyrim mods, and some of them are pretty damn good, but the devs aren't going to devote hundreds of hours to making in-game penises not look weird.
Although... seeing the glitch gifs that would arise (hur-hur) out of it might be worth it. Okay, not really.

Well, they did spend some hours rendering at least one penis (that we know of), so...
But yeah, it's never going to happen, if they really want that, they better ask BW for a Frostbite mod kit.
If you are referring to that uncensored Iron Bull pic that is floating around on Tumblr, that is not real. I wrote a whole post about it in the gay KISA thread after Gomez asked about it.

The picture is not real, but the thing underneath the black box in the game is real. It's not anywhere in the game uncovered, but it did happen, and someone did spend time rendering it.
^ Holy sh*t. Thanks for the vid. Will add to bookmarks.
But... that kinda pisses me off. I doubt it was a small amount of work, and for something they never intended to be in the game. Not something that was cut due to resources or whatever, but something they could not have added to the game in the first place. I mean, they're joking and everything, and I understand the devs add some of these more humorous things into the game (numerous cheeses all throughout DAI and such) to break monotony of game development, but that is just a huge damn waste.
Yeah, arm chair developing and all that, I get it. It's still annoying.
[edit]
AND I'd say the same thing even if it were Dorian's penis and I got to see it with flycam.
There is... an interesting new post in the gay KISA thread. I don't see the point in responding to such a person, since it's unlikely they will be convinced of anything.
Someone did a thread about going out of bounds of the map, and there are some things you can only see, when you deliberately break the game. Plus the mentioned cheese wheels, the cheese with the top hat and so on. No one made them do it, it was just for fun. Sometimes the devs need a break and do goofy stuff, this reads like on of those situations. Keeping the atmosphere friendly lets the devs be more at ease and more willing to work, and helps BW retain more employees. Even companies like Google give their employees time to work on whatever they like, even if it fails or doesn't generate profit, because it keeps people happy. Creating games is a long and hard process, if they didn't have fun with it from time to time, there would be no one left in the industry (especially since a lot of those people would get paid better in other industries).
Plus, I don't think the artist really though it would be included in the game. Someone creating ken dolls for many years knows the limitations. Probably just wanted to do it for fun. It's not like all of the work was wasted, those pubes looked nice. The box probably helped the animators too. Instead of guessing where to cut off (and still show that happy trail) they had a box clearly indicating what was off limits.
Oh thank you for reminding me I still need to get my account fixed! I miss posting in the KISA thread.
Ahem sorry for butting in there^^;

Do it, you're missing out on all the fun!
There's even a BSN help forum, you can ask there
http://forum.bioware...-forumbsn-help/
Edit: also, in that contact EA page you mentioned you can select Origin, as in the service, not only games. If you can't post on that help forum, you can also PM the BW employee, who posts there.
