These new DQ threads keep sprouting up like weeds and the mods keep pulling them up. It's starting to become humorous in its ridiculousness, now.

I don't see any mod post, why was it locked down exactly? (if it was locked at 4096, I would have guessed you had broken the system )

 

Also, the entire Andromeda board deserves to be wiped clean somewhere between now and the release.

Joking aside, I fully expect that to happen. Since a lot of that board is a dumpster fire, I think they will just get rid of it, and create the new general (spoilers) and general (no spoilers) threads. I'd screenshot everything I wanted to keep, if I were you.

I really didn't see the logic in having an Andromeda subforum when little to no info was actually given and it continues to be the case..

They expect everybody to be on topic but there's only so many times you can discuss the same thing.. And despite topics like Arty's aesthetics thread, it probably just gets ignored anyway because they've probably already designed it all.. And that goes for just about everything else that's discussed there be it nudity and language controversy, romance options, combat style, etc.

I think they expected to begin the unveiling sooner. Which is why I believe they will push MEA well into 2017. Otherwise it wouldn't have made much sense to open the forum so soon. The franchise forum would have sufficed.

This is the venting thread, you seem to be in the right place.

I just observed two threads turn into a fistfight, so yeah, we need news. Sadly, we probably won't get any for the next 4 months.

This less of a vent an more of a minor annoyance/question. Just realized that I can not post in anything in any thread that isn't DAI or MEA in the forums. No idea what's causing it and it's very annoying everything else I go into just has a little 'You are not allowed to post here' in the corner of the thread. Anyone know what that might be about or how to fix it?

Check if your email has been verified. Otherwise, I have no idea, what's happening. Do you have any warning points?

In order to post in most sections, you have to have a gaming account synced with this one, to show that you've actually played that game.

But I don't have DAO synced, and I can still post there. The same with KOTOR. Maybe just having it connected to the EA account is enough.

As far as I know I don't have warning points though this is an email that I don't use on my consoles and is hooked up to another account that I can't remember the reason for making now, and I'm far too lazy to switch accounts every time I want to post somewhere else. Maybe I can change my email on this account after I delete the other one?

I don't know if you can delete a BSN account without deleting the EA one. I think you will have to write to EA help to get them connected (not as scary as it sounds, my friend needed to merge 2 Origin accounts, and it took like 15 minutes, and he got a discount coupon).

I really disliked the barrel riding fight scene, and the riding molten gold on a shield one was even worse.

 

Alright, I'll admit, the gold riding wheel barrel thing was a bit much, but I really enjoyed the barrel riding scene! Then again, I'm one of those people that liked The Hobbit better than the Lord of the Rings movie.

 

The most rage inducing Peter Jackson fail for me will always be his portrayal of Faramir and Eowyn. He RUINED them ;_;

also he's got some nice moments in the book where he tries to win over people to help Gondor when they reach it

It was just so bizarre. They called me today...

 

"Thanks to your prior stay at one of our resorts, you have been selected for a free trip to Disneyland. Just to confirm, you have a valid credit card and are over 28 years of age, correct?"

 

Ah, I think. Here's an easy out, "No, I'm 27."

 

Without missing a beat, he says, "Hold on one moment,"

 

And I am transferred to a friendly lady, who I'll refer to as Maya, "Hello, how are you today? ...I'm well, ma'am, this is to confirm that you are pre-qualified for a trip to Cancun with an all inclusive resort package."

 

The tactic with this one, was to ask me leading questions about prior trips to tropical destinations and what I'm most interested in at such places. I tell her, "I'm sorry, Maya, but I'm going to end up passing on this."

 

"Is that because it seems too good to be true?" she asks.

 

"Really, it's because I'm familiar with time shares and what kind of people they want in these orientations. I only get paid $___ per year. I just don't have the kind of money, and I'd just be wasting your time."

 

"I can guarantee you that you won't be under any requirement to invest in a time share, and we..."

 

Away we go again, for several minutes. Eventually it comes out that this would cost over $400 dollars. 

 

"Maya, I'm going to pass. I don't have the money." 

 

She offers to up the package and drop the price.

 

"I just don't have this kind of money."

 

She transfers me to her supervisor, and he's a real charmer. 

 

"You were speaking with one of our newer consultants. I hope that she was respectful and polite?"

 

"Very much so," I say. "She was excellent, but I've been passed from person to person, and I can't seem to convince anyone that I don't possess the kind of money to purchase any of these packages."

 

For some weird reason, this guy launches into a defensive explanation of why they called me to offer me this deal, "Well, the reason your receiving this call is because you've stayed at one of our resorts before, and that's why you're being offered this deal."

 

And you should have heard this guys voice. I kid you not, he sounded positively harassed. He pointed out that he can see I'm in good standing with my credit card company. 

 

"I understand that, but I still don't have the money," I say, "and even though I make regular payments on my cards, I owe close to the entirety of my credit limit." 

 

He offers to lower the price even further. 

 

I tell him again, politely, I do not own that kind of money. 

 

He hangs up on me. I guess I really ruined his morning. 

 

Moral of the story: Even when I think I'm being assertive, I apparently need to be more assertive. Or something.

Next time someone like that calls do as my grandmother does pretend you with the police investigating a homicide and start taking information from the caller eventually leading them to believe that there will be cops showing up to question them further. 

 

She has done this at least twice and neither company has called back. Then again she sounds terrifying in cop mode.
