Hi,

I've been reading a few articles about the possible delay of ME:Andromeda til summer 2017...

I know some senior staff have left Bioware and this has probably had an undesired effect, and possibly delayed the release, but could you either quash the rumour or let us know?

We haven't had any real news about the game in ages.

No way to say for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised too much.

EA said that MEA will be relased in their fiscal year 2017 - meaning somewhere between April 2016 - April 2017 and everyone is just screaming right now that it was delayed to spring 2017. With no prove. BioWare still states, that MEA is planned for holiday 2016. That doesn't mean it can't delay, but not at this point.

It can't be delayed yet, since they haven't even put out any marketing with an official release date.

Totally agree! I wouldn't get too worried yet as all that has been said this far is Holiday 2016 which gives a view point of somewhere between November 2016 - January or even February 2017.. Honestly, I am not expecting to get another trailer and solid release date until E3 2016 in June, but even when they provide the expected release date, I will probably add a couple months on to that just of case of any unforeseen delays like what happened with DA:I

People have been predicting that it will be delayed ever since the very moment they said "Holiday 2016". It's all just random guesswork right now.

Only a handful of high-profile team members have left, and every time this happens it gets drastically over-publicized. If the game does get delayed, it won't be because of that.

You're confusing holiday 2016 with winter 2016. Nobody calls January and February the "holidays". According to wikipedia, year end holidays goes from end of november to beginning of January, right after new years.

So yes, if the game releases in 2017 or later, it will have been delayed.

I'll ask this question with the utmost respect and without any ulterior motives: So?

I don't see how delaying a game by a month or two is an issue. I'd rather take an optimized and bugfree Andromeda in late February than a buggy and low-FPS mess in November. A delay doesn't guarantee that the actual release won't have any bugs or lag zones left, but it significantly decreases the chance of encountering them.

Let's give Bioware as much time as they need. I can't say for sure if the rumours are true, but as I implied just now, I wouldn't break a sweat if they are.

I can't speak for others but I've always expected a delay, so it doesn't change much for me. If I replied, it was mostly just to counter the smart alecks who say, "A release date wasn't announced so it can't be delayed." No, an exact date was not announced but a release window was. Releasing it out of that window constitutes a delay.

There are no rumors about the game being delayed. Only wild guesses based on the fact that others games were delayed, so MEA might be too.

I think they have already stated that the game is coming Holidays 2016 so Nov-Dec. The only reason the 2017 is mentioned because EA is saying a bunch of its titles are going to be released by April 2017.

They are trying to get a rise in their shares in anticipation of them.

Not until Developer/Publisher actually says it's delayed. Bioware has said Holiday 2016, so that's where it stands. I figure it's not worth worrying about, it'll be out when it's out.

It's ridiculous how many websites pop up and just start writing articles based on speculation and rumors as if it's the gospel, or they interpret a tweet or blog post completely out of context leaving readers with information that isn't accurate or completely speculative. It's like the wild west of journalism out there.

Yeah there was like a dozen different version on dozen different gaming news sites citing the exact same thing in slightly different ways. The bare bones of what was said is that EA is going to release games by April 2017 that they are looking forward to. That's it. Nothing on delays or anything even remotely that could be interpreted like that.

Whatever. Sure the waiting sucks, but however long it takes is fine by me in the long run. 2016? 2017? Whatever.

Agreed these things are just rumours at the moment and until BW come out and say something to change the situation I'll continue to run on the assumption that MEA will come out holiday 2016. I wouldn't get to hung up if it was delayed though as I have plenty of other things to keep me busy. I'm just asying that's what I'm playing to for now.

March 2017 seems likely and I called it (no kidding). Not confirmed yet, but the game was slated for an unspecified Holiday 2016 release, just as ME3 was slated for "holiday 2011" until it turned out the final release date was in march 2012. Same with ME:A which EA already seem to be hinting at, saying "some time between holiday 2016 and march 2017"

the only "truth" to delay rumors is that games do sometimes get delayed.  And this being an apparently very large game, it stands to reason that things may go wrong along the way.

I read something about towards the end of 2016. Because September+ is dominated by sports game... imo I say just for this year, screw sports games, and focus on MEA.
