I started playing the classic GoG version of Baldur's Gate as a paladin following all the restrictions in The Complete Paladin's Handbook (for ADnD 2nd edition), and I'm making videos about it (1 video every Wednesday).
After a long delay, I posted my latest video about the lost quests: quests I can't accept because of my ethos, including half the prologue's quests. It also turns out that the wording itself is very important and can make a huge difference:
The paladin's code forbids her to run away from battle. But that's the first thing the protagonist does in this game. So, how can I NOT violate the code?
Kudos for trying something like this! One question, I couldn't quite understand whether detecting Silke as evil led to attacking her out of the blue (i.e. murdering her unprovoked), or if you passed that quest up entirely because of silly Garrick's sad attempt at recruiting 'mercenaries'.

Hey, thanks!
No, I didn't attack Silke. Actually detecting that she's evil didn't do anything, because Garrick tried to entice me with money and my only dialogue option was to be happy about the money. The ironic thing is that he could've gotten me if he just told me Silke's cover story. So, I never actually had any business with Silke, I just walked by her. (I even tried to trigger the quest by talking to Silke, but she doesn't give me the quest herself.)
And here is my new video where I murder for grinding, even though life is sacred to a paladin:
Yeah, my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 1 was also a paladin. Though the default route includes quite some subterfuge and selling out, and neither is allowed now, so I have to be a bit more creative than last time.
My first playthrough was also a paladin. Never got to finish that run (hard drive crash). He had good stats and was destroying everything...It wasn't until the Underdark he got a rude awakening - being one-shotted by mind flayers. I was like "What the...???". I never realized it then, but it happened because of character's 4 INT...I never figured out the INT drain (during that run) but I managed to clear the Illithid Enclave (after MANY reloads...). Eventually I figured out that if I turn off the AI and have a guy invisible blocking the doorway, Minsc can shoot at max range with his long bow and kill all the enemies as they can't get into melee range.
My latest video is a platonic love letter to Imoen, who is my BFF and we would do anything for each other:
And this is the last of the first 'season' for now. I take a break from Ethos videos, but I promise that Algina will return in Chapter II of Baldur's Gate in a somewhat changed format.
