Do you think the 3 man fire team will finally be upped to 4?

since so many problems could have been solved if Shepard bothered to bring an extra person along.

and I still want to know, What was so important in ME2 that Shepard needed THE ENTIRE GROUND SQUAD off the ship to deal with it.

Thats also something I want, More scenes where your entire Squad gets involved, You don't know how much I got pulled out of it when you have all the squadmates in the london base... but its still just the same 3 on everything gameplay as you move through the london no man's land

They had to move a couch up a stairwell.

I kind of prefer the intimacy of three person squads myself.

It depends on the game. Sometimes I prefer going solo (because my companions add a bonus elsewhere or because they are crafting), sometimes I want to take everyone at once.

It's impossible to say for ME:A since we know nothing about it, yet.

lol those idiot squadmates always dying. I'd be happy with just 1 capable teammate that I didn't have to micromanage

I don't think a 4 man squad is a viable option for those who wish to actually control the team with precision.

I think it would be more interesting to create missions that are like the Kasumi DLC and do the two man team thing.

Also, some soloing would be fun here and there.

So only three in a squad is the way I'd go.

I'd actually rather be able to make better use of my squadmates before adding any more.

In Mass Effect 2/3 they're basically just there to prime stuff for combos, or CC. They do weak overall damage because it's so heavily nerfed for AI squadmates.

A better way to control your squadmates would be good, as well as more options.

Something like in Republic Commando was pretty good with a four-clone squad.

If the announcement trailer is any indication, I think the team will remain as Protag +2.. Although, I loved in ME2 breaking the entire squad down into teams for the final mission and hope they integrate that somehow!! But in true ME fashion, I hope the squad remains Protag +2

True enough but you can rampage on everything in SP using them like that. I can imagine being near god like if they were any stronger.

Especially a NG+ or import.

@Op they already confirmed they'll stick to the 3 man squad.

If the trailer is anything to go by they're probably sticking to the 3-man fire team, but I'd love it if they increased it to 4.

No 3's fine unless they incorporate 4 player co-op into the campaign.

I say the other squad-members should always be actively involved in the mission off-screen using Suicide Mission & Virmire as the blueprint - let's occasionally have different fire-teams carrying out different tasks. Have different objectives require different strengths so you assign squad-members to fire-teams based on their abilities. let's have somebody on hacking/infiltration duty (off screen). Let's have mission reports over the com-radio. Let's have different fire-teams converge at key points so we can regularly have cut-scenes which involve the full-cast.

I imagine designing missions where the whole squad is involved is more work for the dev team, so something like ME2's Suicide Mission probably isn't practical for every main story mission. That said I'd love it became the standard at least for every end run of a Mass Effect game.

Hmm............as I recall in me2, Miranda's butt kept getting in my line-of-sight when I was trying to take a shot.

I think two is enough.

2 companions is enough.

Instead, make us actively utilize other squad mates and switch teams around like in the Suicide mission.

I don't see why it has to be at the end of the game. A mission in the middle of the game could involve all squadmates

For the question itself, I would stick with 3

The E3 trailer plus the mako concept art pretty much confirms it will be protagonist + 2 squadmates. Which is good.

For me 2 companion is not the real problem. The prolbem is, We have many companion and I just want to bring them all (who I like) to feel the companionship, the banter and they reaction to the misson. IF we have 6 or more companion, I like to bring 3 of them with me.

And If we have 2/3 companion in default setting, I really want the extra compannion to come with me in big mission (maybe control by AI completely) or allow me to see other companion do action in other area in the same mission. In ME sereis some of mission make no sense to bring only 2 companion to help you.

I hope we will have more mission like Suicide in ME2 or Citaldel DLC in ME3 that include all of companion (and ally) OR more than 2 or 3 of them.

Ps. How to get Jade Empire emblem under my avatar?

That would be nice, but i'll settle with having the ability to control the other party members, and them having better ai.

The final mission is usually going to be more dramatic than the others, or set during the climactic battle, so it might make more sense to have the full team involved in the finale than earlier, if it can only be done for one mission.

I definitely hope it'll be upped, or at least that each mission will need several objectives to be completed more or less simultaneously, giving the other characters something to do offscreen. I hate hate hate not having anything to justify sixty percent of my awesome team of badasses kicking up their feet back on the ship while Shepard inexplicably walks into hostile territory with minimal support. The scientists, engineers and terrorist administrators I can make excuses for, but the soldiers, mercenaries and krogan have no reason to be slacking off instead of covering my ass.

I'd much rather if, instead of choosing which of the crewmates do and don't get to go before each mission, you get to decide which ones are needed elsewhere and/or have some specific reason not to want to be on that particular mission and then just bring the rest.
