Ignore dumb title and let me get straight to the point of what I mean, I want ME universe that isn't static! This thread is big suggestions in here, not "must" or...

giphy.gif

So yeah not that, just suggestions I repeat. Anyway here are examples of what I have in mind.

I mean for start NPC-s won't stand around at same place for hours/weeks/months/years in same place, doing same thing over and over again and wearing same damn clothes for all that time. I want world in where NPC-s do their own business, move to other places(not just be like statue in one place), change clothes mabye now and then. Your crew also doing their own business, talking to other people, eating, taking bath, shaving, taking dump...I don't care just give us immersive immersion in here! Like GTA 5 did for example, everyone had their own lives and you could always find them at different locations doing different things.

Also let our own PC(Player) be immersive by themselves.

What do I mean by this. For example male protagonist's facial hair will grow over time(TW3 example), if we don't take bath in long time we will get smelly and it will cause interesting reaction from NPC that are unfortunate enough to be in same room as us(MGS 5: PP example), no more of magical makeup for female protagonist it can get smeared due different situations(like getting in water, bathing with makeup on or because of rain),sleeping in order to reset effects and get relaxed, get dark circles if we push our protagonist to stay awake, getting drunk for real, eating now and then(becoming overweight or skinny depending on how much we eat), muscles depend on do we do workout or no and etc. Also if we are afk(away from keyboard) they might go to do something else(take drink, smoke, call someone, listen to music or something like that instead of just standing doing nothing when you are not controlling them). Also it would be cool if each time we enter game we find our protagonist doing something(like GTA 5 again), time we are away from game had some kind of effect(MGS 5:PP example).

Also world immersion.

Different weathers, day/night, different kind of alien animals running around on some planets, seasons, smarter enemies(meaning they also won't be like statues at same place all time at same numbers and it is always unknown where enemy is or who will be, also enemies fighting between each other not just attacking you), different events within game done by other people not just you( GTA 5 example), also appearance of some areas/plant might change due some events and etc. other examples as those.

NPC x NPC romance isn't predictable.

Also it would be cool if for example your crew/or some npc hooks up or doesn't hook up at all in some of the plays. Like surprise all time. For example you knew Tali and Garrus hook up and you know it will happen if you don't romance either of them, it was predictable. But what if for example they don't hook up in some play, or hook up with some other people if you don't romance them? Now this one I doubt will ever happen, but hey this entire thread is just suggesting something.

So let me just put an end-note, while I do want immersive ME game I don't want it to be 100% like real life...I can have that game by turning off my PC, however I do want ME world that isn't going to be just big statue standing around, so some immersion so ME universe looks more alive is welcome.

Agreed on the NPC part. I like Redcliffe village very much in DAI but it could have been a lot better if the citizens walked like in AC Liberation. I'm still impressed with New Orleans.

I'm not sure about the player part. Beard growth is something Bioware will be critiziced for if the game is short of stellar. "Oh oh they wasted time and resources on pointless details and didn't write a good plot".

Things like taking a bath are better suited to a sims like game. Unless it's just "press X, fade to black, job done", which would defeat the purpose of it being immersive.

While I do not mind some Immersive mods, I prefer the minutia of RL to continue to be excluded from gameplay.

* NPC's: am good with them not having daily routines; would like them to move out of the way when encountered.

* Having a mirror for hair growth and restyling in the Player's control is fine; auto-growth not required. Want swimming if possible, but pls no forced bathing and washing routines.

* Pls leave the crazy actors alone....

I never meant to put all suggestions lol

Like I said on end, just a little immersion so game looks more alive is all I ask for, these were just suggestions and examples of some things that could be added so game feels more alive.

I think some effort should be made to NPC movement paths rather than just standing still. However i don't see it as being a good notion for them to be changing clothes.

Yeah really don't see the need for sim like nonsense in regards washing, eating, drinking, weight, sleeping etc Equally the notion of having the character doing something whilst away from keyboard is a lame waste of resources.

Whilst i enjoyed the Geralt facial hair growth mechanic it was a gimmick resource that i'm not sure can be justified in a game where protagonist can be either sex.

Different weathers on the planets would be good to see. Less sure about need to invest resources for day/night cycles in a space setting where we are not restricted to a single world.

Definitely don't agree with the unpredictable NPC romances. They are their own characters and should have their own character arcs if not romanced. Made complete sense for Tali and Garrus to end up together it wouldn't have made sense to walk in and find her and Vega suddenly smooching.

Write a coherent plot. Looking back this has not happened since ME1 or DA:O. There's always something major in either ME2, DA2, ME3 or DA:I that makes no sense or just the plot being unfocused. In ME2 it's Shepard's revival not having any theme to it or Cerberus being presented unnuanced. In DA2 it's the red lyrium, Templar/Mage one-sidedness or Orsini vs Meredith being completely stupid and contradicting themselves, in ME3 it's the Crucible, Earth being important without clear reason, The intro, the ending etc (the whole thing sans Tuchanka lol), and DA:I it's the Inquistion "Restoring order" and Inquisitor going from being a prisoner to being a leader with almost no nuance to how it develops.

Also, one thing that's already a relief to me is how ME:A won't have returning characters. Whenver that happens Bioware changes them because the cheapest and easiest way to create character development is to do it offscreen and use time-skips as a cop-out for change. Ashley goes from Gunnery Chief to Lieutenant Commander in 6 months (that's a lot of promotions!), Varric becomes King of Kirkwall between Inquisition and Trespasser, Cerberus goes from a personel of less than 150 people to the clone army from Star Wars in 6 months.

ME:A is a clean slate. Whatever character development it may have is self-contained and be independant of who the characters may previously have been. In other words, it earns what it will earn the hard way.

I agree with some of your ideas, but you *really* overused the word immersion.

You might as well have said, "I want immersive immersion so that the immersive immersion can help me be immersed in the immersion. Oh, also, we need some immersion in our immersive game of immersion."

I have to say I can't see why gamers like so much those mods for Skyrim that force you to drink water, take shits, etc. Why not press a button to blink regularly, or breathe.

Immersion! is the usual answer. But I'm very glad the toon in Skyrim doesn't eat, sleep, or breathe. It allows me to focus on interesting, extraordinary things. Immersion should be about the world, not so much your controlled toon, because an immersive world is fun but having to drink water is boring. I fail to see why water drinking is such a fun activity.

Walking around on the Citadel in Mass Effect 3 freaked me out sometimes. People would stand around in the exact same spot doing nothing with blank looks in their faces. I suppose I could understand the refugees on the docks -- war can leave its mental scars -- but everyone on the Citadel? Has Shepard been placed in a poorly built simulation without knowing it?

Assassin's Creed has dozens of people doing different things; can BioWare bring that to Mass Effect?

I really, really hated beard growth. Shaving is such a ****** pain. I can barely keep up with it when I'm busy IRL. I don't want a pain in the ass chore in my games, too.

Agree with the sentiment overall, though.

I use a food/drink/sleep mod for Skyrim and for me, it boils down to two things:

1. Managing food/water/fatigue during dungeon crawls adds an extra dimension to the gameplay (especially with limited carrying capacity; can't haul 20 cheese wheels everywhere you go).

2. It gives the in-game world some meaning. Inns and markets serve absolutely no purpose, until you have to start visiting them to buy supplies or rest.

That said, it's not for everyone. It's tedious for many people and I wouldn't want something like that to exist by default. That's the sort of feature that should really be restricted to mods.
