I haven't been following VR closely, but I am not sure if any game that hasn't been designed from the ground up to support VR would work well because of the high framerate requirements and I know a lot of older games are framerate locked at 30fps and I believe you need at least 90fps for a positive VR experience.
As far as Andromeda I can't see it happening quite yet with a full blown AAA game supporting VR because of the risk of it not working properly because they are going to be pushing hardware for non-VR gameplay. Now I could see a related game being released that is developed for VR exclusively. It would be like how Double Fine is making a separate Psychonauts game for Sony's VR, but Psychonauts 2 won't support VR.

I strongly agree with this statement.

It's a third person game, so the benefit of VR is greatly diminished. I also haven't heard much from EA about VR support within Frostbite (despite having games like Mirror's Edge and Need for Speed), and unless VR is a priority for EA (which it doesn't seem to be), they won't be adding it to their main lineup of games any time soon, especially their 3rd person games.

I agree with RoboticWater. VR technology is amazing, with tons of applications, but I don't see third person games being one of them.

Personally I think VR is a fad. Also, I don't think 3rd person games would work well for VR. The concept of VR is presenting a 1st person view.

Not likely. To me VR feels like just another tech fad. I had a pair of VR glasses back in the '90s. Its not like its new technology. They were hot, uncomfortable and you couldn't play longer than a couple hours at a time with them. They also only worked good for games that were specifically designed for them.
While I am sure the new iteration of the technology has improved them greatly, I don't see them as ever really catching on for most games.
