I never really understood the appeal of going out of bounds in games. Oh boy! There's NOTHING out here!
I beg to differ.

Another. Players that are explorers are gonna explore.

I was hoping the OP would go down into the valley to see what the tents and watchtowers look like up close. Ah well.
The lack of glitches like that is why I wouldn't touch a console with a 10 metre cattle prod.Glitches like that makes me glad I'm still using PS consols and Xbox 360.. Sheesh!
Every time I see stuff like that scares me away from buying a gaming computer.
Uh? I must be blind or iincredibly stupid but I do not see any resemblance with the Arbor Wilds in this SS.. am I missing something? Would you be so kind to point it out better? I'm curious
Ad for the other screens, great that you could reach those parts with the stairs where you see Justinia and all
Gah, you're right! I meant The Wrath of Heaven. Edited now, thanks!
Here ya go ... (yeah, I take a lot of OOB screenshots) The "warriors" are 2D sprites and wobble around and disappear/reappear. Not supposed to be seen up close, obviously.
Thanks for the picture! It took me until the end of my second playthrough to even notice those tents
But I didn't see the soldiers there. It's odd they'd even exist.

Most glitches and bugs I've seen aren't platform-specific.

Might I ask which maps these are from? Is that Redcliffe castle? Is there anything the PC can interact with in the second shot?
All that work including this giant-ass area no one's ever gonna see (unless you go massively out-of-bounds), but they didn't have enough resources to include fewer meaningless fetch quests. x_x
I'm gonna go out on a whim here and assume that some sort of (random) terrain generator is being used to create mountains. The creation of a map takes very little time and effort when using such a tool as opposed to an entirely new side-quest. It's also a completely different area of expertise. The scale of a map (especially those without foliage and areas far off into the distance) has very little impact on the amount of work required.
Anyway; interesting to see they replaced most of the skybox with actual physical models, that DOES explain the loading time... Also very interesting to see that the tents at the bottom of Skyhold are just blank square polygons lol
Can you opt out of patches on console? Most glitches and bugs I've seen aren't platform-specific.
Guys, the way I made it work wasn't a "glitch". This requires modding to work.
Namely,
- Remove the OOB walls collision check so you don't respawn in a safe zone upon collision
- Change the fatal fall distance to something ridiculously high (>3000m) so it won't trigger a respawn
- Change in-air in-place turn update rate
- Change character physics (jump height, movement speed)
- Optionally change gravity value
It's all simple stuff but there's no way you could ever get this result on a non-modded game.
^^^^ what he says, the only two ways I know to get OOB in DAI are these two (I don't use mods)
Please ignore the fact that you can only see 3/4 of the screen, that was my first try using OBS to record.

Top shot is indeed Redcliffe Castle. Normally, you only see it in the distance to the north from Redcliffe Village.
Bottom shot is from Emprise du Lion, on the far side of Valeska's Watch tower. It does not have any interactive elements. It's either in a section that used to be accessible but was later closed off during play testing or whatever, or, it's just a little tableau a level designer set up because it looked cool, maybe as an easter egg for OOB spelunkers like me!

That Redcliffe shot is amazing. As for Easter eggs, I've no doubt that they put in elements just for this purpose, and just for entertainment value for their own selves while doing level design work; the same reason there are cheeses all over the place.

Yeah I wish we had been able to access the location in the first screenshot, it's great!

Good question. Technically, yes, but you need to play the game offline for your entire future. And sometimes DLC requires previous patches. So, for all intents and purposes, not really, no. It's annoying.
The DLC restriction makes sense, but not letting us rollback or control versions is just anti-consumer.Good question. Technically, yes, but you need to play the game offline for your entire future. I love what they did to Redcliffe castle. From every angle it literally looks like a 19th century Romantic landscape painting the like of Villamil or perhaps even Turner.
