If we were to place Paragon and Renegade into D&D alignments where would they fit?

Ways that Mass Effect Trilogy can be played:

Entirely Paragon

Mostly Paragon

Half Paragon, Half Renegade

Mostly Renegade

Entirely Renegade

D&D Alignments:

Lawful Good

Neutral Good

Chaotic Good

Lawful Neutral

True Neutral

Chaotic Neutral

Lawful Evil

Neutral Evil

Chaotic Evil

Paragon and renegade were never really consistent, even within a single ME game.

IMO paragon covers the entirety from lawful neutral (trying to arrest exogeni scientists) over lawful and neutral good to chaotic good (dealing with Helena Blake or Harrot)

Basically paragon is mostly 'good'.

Renegade is even harder to say, as it ranges from lawful to chaotic good -but shouting at people in ME1 (with sometimes lawful/neutral evil in there); then to chaotic neutral or evil in ME2; to it's ME3 incarnation of mostly lawful evil.

That's just for the 'pure' paragon/renegade versions.

Nowadays I literally make my alignment up before starting a playthrough, using either the old D&D system or 'what would person X do' -questions.

I suppose that is a fair point.

They don't nicely fit the alignments.

I've always seen renegade as ultimately for the greater good. Even if it is a little evil at times.

I've always seen paragon as mostly good but with the occasional blemishes here and there.

It gets even harder in ME3, since there aren't any neutral options at all.

My best guess would be that the "standard" responses are neutral as a whole (Paragon being neutral good, Renegade being neutral evil)

But the "special" responses, the ones that are colored blue or red, would be the lawful/chaotic extensions.
