While playing Origins, occasionally Starfang goes missing (along with its gems) from Alistair's hand. And, I mean, it seems to be gone, not just invisible due to some graphics issue. And, I mean in Origins, not importing into Awakening or another module or DLC. The party's inventory is not otherwise full.
I am not sure why this happens. It's not a big issue when I notice it right away, because restarting the game and reloading the same save usually seems to work. I assume this is some issue with DLC. The problem is that I don't usually pay much attention to Alistair's inventory; I point him at baddies and he fights them (or, he at least gets the attention of the bad guys while the rest of the party takes them down). But, when his sword vanishes without me noticing and I play for a while and then save, then the sword is really gone. I mean, gone in a way that I have to go back to an earlier save to get it, not just reload the current save. The last time it happened, I had played for quite a while before noticing, which lead to some backtracking and a bit of panicking as I realized I had saved over some previous saves, meaning I would have to go back further than that session's play to get the sword back.
This is sort of a tedius process, but I know how to spawn in the weapon and the gems. I was wondering why the problem happens at all and if there is a more elegant fix? Or, is there a mod that posts creates floaty texts when someone in the party doesn't have an equipped weapon when entering an area (or at least when a save is loaded)?
