She was created by the Archietic for an unknown reason so there's that.

I don't really buy that the Architect told this info to her since he had no reason to tell her.
Also the mother was sure about her assumptions so probably she had the evidences

Theory
First he created The mother
then he created The Archdemon.

My theory is that after the events of the calling the Architect changed his plans and discovered a way to awaken his "family".
Thanks to his experience with the GW of whom nature he was fascinated ( in his mind they were intelligent darkspawns immune to the calling) he started to ponder about his idea to immunize all the darkspawns, but in order to do that he needed GW blood which was too difficult to acquire...
Then it arrives
(for our amusement/despair) his first "brilliant" idea , which was create an intelligent broodmother in order to breed disciples without the need of GW blood, which doesn't go as how he expected.
The new creature called the mother wish revenge over him for her new self awareness and her creations are not disciples but an unpredictable result called childrens, which are even more agressive than regular darkspawns and obey only to their mother.
The mother manage to create her own disciples which do not want to be free from the voices and start a war against The Architect.
At this point of the story the old magister is overwhelmed by the opponets,so he has one of his greatest brilliant idea since the time of his priesthood with Corypheus (when the pair went to the golden city) which his
"why not awaken an old god and use him to bite the mother in the ass?"
In this way he thought also to be able to manipulate his calling for his own purposes to free the darkspawns.
The Orlesian warden commander of the novel told to him the location of all of the old gods and since The Architect has no problem to walk among the darkspawns he reached one of them in a short period of time and most important ne know where they are.

The mother realized this ,probably with her own disciples but was unable to stop him because only the Architect knew the location of the prison.
When the Archdemon was created by this mistake
he managed to gain control on all the darkspawns that were previously under the influence of The Architect, The mother and their disciples thus their war was interrupted at least until he was killed in Denerim.
(this funny and contrived that in DAO the archdemon with all this darkspawns at his disposal that came from both the armies of the Mother and the Architect plus those he called at Ostagar didn't crushed Denerim soon after the battle of Ostagar instead to wait our PC whims and that phatetic army ghatered by the warden in whom only the dwarves and Eamon knights were true soldiers).

The only darkspawns immune to the Archdemon calling are those we don't see in DAO.
which are

-The Mother and The Architect who are immune to his calling.

-The disciples who are immune to his calling

-The children who are immunized by their cocoon

Most of the darkspawns under his influence returned in Amaranthine back again to their old masters.
The mother knew because she was created before of the archdemon.

Wtf would the Archietic awake a Broodmother? That seems very unwise to me...

To create disciples without GW blood that was his plan, he didn't know however that the result would have been the children.

One of the Architect's Disciples defected to the Mother and told her what the Architect did to Urthemiel.
