All of this talk bout Krogans, makes me want a biotic headbutt melee ability for a Krogan squadmate.
Reminds me of one of my favorite scenes from ME2 lol

I want all squadmates to be available early in the game i hate getting them late game like legion.
**** Nyreen til the end of time. I hated that wench. She gave turians a bad name and is the face of what was so bad about the Omega dlc. Give me more edgy characters who can be leaders or badasses in their own right without being overly chummy. Though starting with aliens really puts the scope into perspective. I like it.
Nyreen absolutely sucked. The only reason people were relatively receptive towards her is because she's a female Turian. If she was human, everyone would've hated her guts. We desperately needed the option to kill her ourselves or at least punch her. Anything to shut her up.
I'd like most if not all of the squad to be available early.
As to starting squadmates i'm hoping buxom blonde bombshell Cora is going to be Ryder's best gal and right hand kicking in doors alongside him. If i get that her as a starting squaddie would just be the cherry on top of the cake. On the wider point it will hopefully make sense for starting party to contain at least one alien.
Drack and Cora are the two confirmed companion names, right? If so, I'm kind of hoping that Cora is an Asari and that she and Drack are the starting squadmates. Beginning the game with two aliens on our team would make for something very new, and if the move to Andromeda is as multi-species and cooperative a venture as I think it is, it could also set up some interesting roleplaying opportunities. i.e. Exactly how cooperative with the other species does our protagonist feel like being?
I know there isn't much to go on in the first place, but what are your hopes for the start-of-game squadmates?
In the trailer the N7 was accompanied by a Krogan and a human female (in screen captures you can make out a human skin tone beneath her visor), and it made me wonder if they might be Drack and Cora.
It has been confirmed that the N7 isn't the protagonist, but the events of the trailer must have some link to Andromeda's story. I'm wondering if the N7 might be the original pathfinder and whether he disappears during that attack by hostile aliens. Maybe his two squadmates survive and become early squadmates for the protagonist.
Whether or not that was Cora in the trailer, I'm hoping the cast of characters is multi-species this time around and not purely human. It made sense to have an all human crew in the Shepard trilogy, where the main character is part of a human military organization. Any Ark project should be multi-species and launched by the Council however, rather than by the Alliance. It would be interesting if this time around some some of the equivalents of Joker, Chakwas, or Adams were from other species.
I'm also hoping we'll get a Batarian squadmate this time around who runs counter to just about everything the Shepard trilogy would condition you to expect. S/he should lean paragon on the morality scale and not be a slaver, pirate, or terrorist. A former slave might be interesting.
And no, nothing has been "confirmed". It's all taken from that alleged survey leak.
If those two are New-Shepard's starting companions, I'm more interested in which one dies first. Starting companion always has to die, it's a BioWare tradition.
I'm still not over Mhairi ![]()
All I ask is a turian on my team ! (since we already know we have a Krogan it's perfect
)
Batarian, really? I don't understand why some people want a batarian so hard on their team, I really don't like them or find them interesting... question of taste I suppose ! also I don't want any asari on my team either U_U If possible, I would like 1 or 2 new species, I was glad to discover the Drell on ME2 ![]()

Just for fun I went through my head to remember which starting companions that dies in BioWare games. *warning, there be companions spoilers, matey!*
Going through those that dies both early on or later in the game.
Did I miss anyone?

Agree i'm hoping the pathfinders or whatever they are called are a bit like the SPECTRES, comprising of forces from the 4 council races individual forces.
If Batarians make the cut(which i'm unsure if they should without a compelling story reason) i'd much prefer to see a Batarian who at least tries to justify the culture and practices of his race rather than something watered down so as not to offend anyone.
Well, they aren't confirmed. The names were just in the 'leak'.
Same leak that noted Andromeda and a few other, very credible tidbits that seem to be coming true.
Id say it's in the ballpark of being correct.

The Andromeda location wasn't leaked in the survey. People recognized the general shape of the galaxy map in that early-concept footage Bioware released 2 years ago, in "Charting a Course - Developing the Next Mass Effect".
As long as there is a good geth squadmate then I'm good. Krogan too unless there is one that offers some amazing team buffs like Miranda in ME2.
I am all for something new or even a Yahg squadmate, but...Geth! I think it would also be good with the intel to set up the world and situation you are in.
I want a Legend of Cora DLC.
Rest In Peace in peace?
http://knowyourmeme....es/rip-in-peace
but I did commit a faux pas......RIP in pepperoni is a far more trendy means to express indifference at someone's death in a video game.

Kids these days
And be voiced by James Earl Jones.
Speaking of potential voice actresses for the early alien female squadmates: from Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn
Ayelet Zurer: Colonel Mehaffey T: 22:52 37:49
Jenna Berman: Spartan Kelly 086 T: 1:43:00
I know the voice actors have already done their work for Andromeda.....
And, my apology for going off topic...a little bit.
And Cora is said to be human, so there goes your asari wish.
Where? I may be mis-remembering here, but the leak only mentioned she was biotic, as far as I recall.

I just want a Krogan romance for my femshep pc.

Tell ya what I'd like; a Batarian chief medical officer.

That was my question too.
It also mentioned a blonde human female so there's confusion.
Blonde human female immediately has me thinking of zero suit samus for some reason.
Was the blonde human female mentioned as a squaddie? Or just mentioned as a character?
If it's the former, then would this be accurate (from the leak only - recognizing that it's not confirmed)?
Thats.......really not a lot of information. Damn, with a year to go before release, we had already known almost all of the companions in DA: I. I wonder why they are being so stingy with information on this game?
Drack, the first gay/bi Krogan
It's Bioware after all, there's a first for everything, look at Krem.
