Still say that they're hoping to sweep E3 with their news at EA Play. They prolly won't, but that's their pie in the sky.

I kinda like it, not tempted to spoil myself. I hope they don't release too much information about the game early on. In any event it will most likely be delayed till early 2017. #calledit

No spoilers, of any kind. plus with no news or updates available, less likely the entire plot will be leaked like ME3.
Spoilers are easy avoided.
There were plenty of people who avoided the Mass Effect script leaks. All it took was not visiting the official forums and/or clicking on links to leaked scripts.

They rarely tell us anything about the plot since people were nuts with the release of the opening cinematic of Mass Effect 2. The more recent thing would be to avoid what happened with Inquisition when content shown behind closed doors and labeled as "pre-alpha" is released and people expect nothing to change.
How much in advance was that released? Was Shepard originally supposed to stay dead?

If this
Why are you always here if you have so little interest in the game?
is "b!tching and moaning" then what's this?
Why are people worried about spoilers when the premise of the game's story a pile of lore-defiling, fanfic-level garbage?

I think it was about a year prior to release. I don't think Shepard was ever to be dead, I believe it was just a system to justify a hard reset on the character and skills since we were importing.
The reason why I mentioned it was the negativity around the trailer before and after the release of the game, just like how the pre-alpha videos of Inquisition were used to for comments like "how great Inquisition could have been" or "BioWare lied/misled us again".

Shepards "death" was such a wasted opportunity for Bioware, using it only to "reset" the char, as if I cared why we get new abilities. Just have her receive sepcial spectre-training in the beginning to justify something like that ingame would have been fine with me
But Shepard's death AT THE END of ME2 instead? The suicide-mission, always ending with her apparent death? No way around it, no walkthrough giving tips how to avoid it, no matter what you do? And then have Shep return gloriously in ME3, in some "altered" way, and making this death a key-point to the plot at the background of the losing war with the Reapers? ...with the side-benfit of fans speculating BEFORE ME3 how/IF/why Shep will return/survive the last minutes of ME2? Marketing might have had a field day using this ... ^^

Shepard's death was just a lazy plot contrivance to force him/her into Cerberus' service.
