Rage against random number god or (RNG) is one of the better noires of DAI, seriously, no one should have to waste time reloading random chests to get specific schematics or legendary items.

It isn't funny nor entertaining and it should never be implemented in any future Bioware games, we all must take a stand a demand that Bioware make every legendary item available and schematic available at a specific location or quest.

The same goes for any sort of repeatable quest such as requisitions, it's stupid that every region gets locked up into a random and possibly unwinnable quest because it gets decided by RNG. Origins already let you decide which quests in your encampment could be taken for improving your troops and Inquisition not only took away your decisions but also made the requistions pointless since your troops don't improve because of them.

Then don't waste time farming schematics or doing requisitions?

Actually schematics have a decent drop rate, you're going to find them eventually. And most unique equipment has fixed drop locations:

You want to see how really cruel the RNG Gods can be? Then try farming for legendary items in Torchlight 2:

0.04% drop chance from champion enemies

0.002% drop chance from normal enemies

The Golden Nug really helps deal with the RNG.  You only need to score it once and all your other characters can have the schematic

Golden Nug is a blessing but we shouldn't have to farm for schematics against RNG much less play multiple times in order to get them.

I am a completionist, it took me hours of RNG before I could get every schematic in this game and I would like to not repeat the endeavour in the next game.

Requisitions are pointless, sadly there is an annoying NPC who won't shut up if you don't take them and they keep showing up in your journal everytime you load the game.

If they ever make another sort of quest related to your allies, they should make one which actually factors into the gameplay like how the requisitions in DAO made your troops stronger after you donated enough items.

Well, the entire game seems designed to torture completionists, so this particular aspect isn't surprising.

Can't schematics be bought as well?

Not all schematics can be bought. however in the base game most of the best can be found in the hissing wastes either through the tombs as a scripted drop or short list and the canyon store with some variants of the same tier and different resources through RNG. There are also comparable schematics for purchase in the black emporium which are able to be saved in the nug.

The DLC the schematics are scripted drops so there is 0 RNG when it comes to aquiring them.

I did one or two trips through the cradle of sulivin per gaming session when the nug came out and I think I have all schematics worth anything in one play through.

If you know you're going to frequent a chest or something in any area not just the dungeons then use the farming technique on it and play the game as is without farming. The schematics drop frequently enough, I'd say that the shards are worse.

Some of the best Hissing Waste schematics (for armor at least) requires the Short List perk and sacrifices to the RNG gods that the dog merchant there has what you want available.

So stop by every time you load up the game. If you're running completionist are you honestly running the entire playthrough at once? Most people have to balance game time with a means of living and personal and social responsibilities and can't do 12 hour sessions daily. Even if you no life 12 hour long sessions then you'd have at least 6 sessions where you can visit the store.

Even if restricted to an hour of play every other day. The time to load hissing wastes and trek to the store is not much time taken from a session. Much less time than it takes to farm the cradle of sulivin.

And likewise you can buy the tier 4 variants of the armor schematics at the hissing waste store in stone bear hold if you have the joh dlc without the short list perk that is also golden nuggable.

I have to point out that RNG in video games is not true RNG

but it's Pseudo RNG

So there is  no RNGesus

it's Pseudo RNG Buddha
