So I finished today first time Leviathan mission after few years of finishing the trilogy. And I got two thoughts or lets sey theories.
- In final underwater confrontation, Leviathan was curious about Shepard being a threat to the Reapers and he wanted study his mind. There was a moment he said that all the victories are no coincidence. I got an idea, if it was not meant like a breaking the fourth wall. Meaning the whole reality is a game and Shephard is only avatar in that game.
- Second thought is about that repeating chant through out all the Leviathan mission "Darkness cannot be breached". Simple explanation, whould be that it only meant that their cover in darkness (depths) cannot be revealed. This my be little far fetched. So bear with me. What Mass Effect created was an epic journey to the unknown of space. I love this game, because it give me a feeling of being a part of the story. And not just any story, but believable story that has a great mystery in it at the same time. That mystery about a race of ancient machines and galactic cycles. When Mass Effect 3 ended, a lot of people was unsatisfied with that ending. I understand, that some of the unhappiness was due to fact that important decision through out whole game didnt have bigger impact on conclusion and other valid reasons. It can not be denied, that at least a portion of this sadness was due to the fact, that mystery that large cannot have explanation, which will just dont rise other greater mystery. Thus saing "Darkness cannot be breached" as a statement of this premise.
