snow listened to una haggle over the price of a bundle of rashvine having found the price to be unreasonable. "Just buy the blasted plant girl." she thought finding it difficult to maintain her facade of a grateful illiterate.
"Come now in the mainland this bundle goes for twelve your charging triple! How many alchemists live her" una said placing her hand on her chin intent on getting a proper price.
"Yea well this isn't the mainland its a f*cking island. Supply and demand" the herbalist shouted losing his temper having finally grown annoyed by her. He had seem her throughout the market haggling with his competitors and getting everything she desired at a disgust rate. "Look twenty-four is best your getting either take it or get the f*ck out"
Una took a deep breath finding his vulgarity unsightly and unprofessional. "I understand serah have a good day." she said grabbing her basket and leaving.
"Um lady una... What did you need the rashvine for?" snow asked adjusting her hat so she would have more shade.
Una smiled and began to laugh "absolutely nothing i just like to haggle, to me its a simple game of wills."
"Oh... Interesting" snow said slyly cracking a smile finally finding a interesting subject after a decade of living as a hermit. "So if i may ask why does durba and kopi have such a antagonistic relationship... Do they like each other?"
"Hmm good question... I think it must have something to do with his broody nature and her malignant greed. But unlike the children stories i doubt they have such a attachment." una said raising her hands to streach as she walked. "But thats not the real question is it? Your dancing about the bush"
Snow chuckled awkwardly at una's deduction. "Yes i was wondering if he was involved and if not maybe i.." she lied hoping to deflect her motives instead pretend to be a lovestruck girl.
"Ask him I'm just his sister not his keeper" una said smiling at the adoring girl thinking she may be a decent girl ,if physically unappealing

Snow stood beside her ruined hut having snuck of the temple. It was burned to the ground from when the order of styx decided to kidnap her for their barbaric ritual, she rarely interacted or even acknowledged them believing them to be a relic of a old era and a half concocted cult. "Damnation... Bloody fools couldn't even leave it standing.. " she said kicking a burnt log.
Snow began to remove the cinders pushing them away so she could find what she came for. She came upon a charred key rubbing the soot from it smiling. "There we are..." she whispered.
"So this is where you lived for the past decade.. Always were low maintenance" a voice said whimsically, the smell of kohl filling the air.
"Well Fulas unlike you mortal interests do not concern me.. Only knowledge." snow said putting the key in her brassier.
Grey chuckled leaning against a tree taking a another drag from his pipe before dumping the remains. "Well immorality is quite dull best to enjoy it. Besides after three hundred years you learned very little aside from demonology and the blood arts."
"Fulas.. What do you want, do don't have a play date with the boy." snow said leaving intent to leaving before he had any ideas of resuming their relationship
"Nope not til tomorrow.. And I'm merely curious to how you expect to survive i can see the degradation on your neck we are running out of time. Curious do you intend to die" grey asked pointing at the cracks on her skin.
Snow covered her neck hiding the unseemly cracks and walked past him "like you said immortality is boring maybe I'm playing it close to the edge".

Grey twiddled his thumbs waiting for durba to arrive. He felt his heart slowly crawl barely functioning due to his body unable to sustain itself. The magic that granted him his longevity had the side effect of slowly breaking down his body only able to use them for a maximum of ten years before the began to decay, theorizing that it had to do with a soul's incompatibility with a foreign host or due to the fact the amulet caused him to be a living tear within the veil. "Maker bless you boy i appal tardiness" he said leaning back into his chair .
The door opened with durba mouthing kopi's words while she nagged him over a trivial matter . "kopi please shut up... I'm begging you" durba said wiping his face in annoyance.
"I'll shut up when you admit you took my underwear when you did the laundry pervert." kopi said her temper showing in her voice at the audacity of him stealing her clothes.
"Woman i have no need for your clothes besides you don't wear underwear... Ever so its a moot point" durba said ending the conversation as kopi blushed. He turned to grey bowing apologetically for the unprofessional display. "You said you have a lead on a source of income?"
Grey clapped his hands in amusement at how he shifted from a bickering young man and to a stoic mage appropriate to his birth. "Oh yes a few. Theres a small cult that dedicates itself to some dreamer of old, personally i think its spawn **** from what the legends say but for the past year or so they have been excavating some odd tomb." grey said refusing to hide his disdain for cultist and religion in general. He found those who believed in a higher diety or any kind to be ignorant fools who were completely unable to be educated in anything "but i would prefer to avoid the cultists, zealots fight over trivial matters and are disgusting to be near, perhaps accompanying me to a old cavern..."
Durba furrowed his brow remembering of the cult he spoke of having heard the went rogue from his master's gripe due to some drama he was always involved in "maker can that man stay out of trouble.. I know the cult you speak of and yes let's avoid them." he said sighing that no matter how far he went his past followed. He detested being under his tutelage forced into it due to it being requested into the ragin's overly lax style of training by his brother's will.
"What vint's actually believe in something other than flying snakes.. Cute" kopi said mocking durba's statement.
"First we tevinters aren't fond of the term vint, it makes you foreigners sound uneducated on proper national identity. Second tevinters haven't worshipped the old gods for millennium and any who do are executed, personally i agree with the statute" grey said annoyed by her ignorance regarding cultural mythology.
Kopi rolled her eyes extending her middle finger "spare your shem rhetoric. "
Grey sighed closing his eyes "then the cavern it is we leave tomorrow" he said turning to Durba "if your bringing the firemouth best to eat your last meal... Girl is shifty"
"She will be fine " durba said ignoring the snide warning over his associate. Grey watched as they left his office tracing his nail over his desk smirking at the ease it would be taking his prey's body "my my such progression... Either youthful arrogance or desperation... Such curiosity it is" grey thought to himself intrigued by what drove the boy into willingness to follow his suggestions.
