How about some free chests, ME3 retro armor, ME3 weapons and gear, or even character unlocks as special little additions on top of the content in ME: A?

It could be like a skill or IQ test.  You can get them for doing challenges in game or even IQ tests.  I'll share a few and if anyone has some to add they can feel free.

Q.  Who is the worst player in the room?  A.  The one using Flamer.

Q.  What was the best way to die in ME3?  A.  Phantom stab and that nice booty.

Q.  What is the best way to get killstreaks without missiles?  A Cain mines and spawn points.

Q.  What is the best name for a Batarian Vanguard?  A. Chris Brown

Q.  How do you know when you are the best ME3 player ever?  When you solo Condor plat with a Drell Adept

In all seriousness, I always thought that a MP reward system recognizing the player's achievements in SP would be really cool. For example:

Say a person was coming in from their current ME 3 play through, and because they chose to cure the Genophage they are immediately granted the basic Krogan soldier as a reward. Or, if they entered into the MP after maxing out their weapons in SP, then they get a free upgrade to the gun of their choice upon entering the MP lobby. Etc.

I'd like the BotB banner from ME3 to carry over for those who unlocked it as that would be a very nice keepsake / reward / fruity little club. It demonstrates loyalty and experience like nothing else would.

Everytime you see that banner in a lobby it's like winning the PUG lottery. I like to play BotB PUG bingo. long may this fine tradition continue.

Exclusive romance options? I want a quarian who will snobbishly turn their nose up at and condescend to you unless you can suitably impress them with a Condor/Geth platinum solo.

I don't believe you're too familiar with IQ tests. Although timed questions on lore from SP and ME games past could be interesting.

But I do like the idea of getting in-game rewards based on achievements; especially the idea that we could equip items from previous games like Cerberus armour, or maybe SP character armour.

I can see something like different banner/playercard/whatever unlocks for having various amounts of progression on ME3MP, and it'd be pretty neat.

I'd do that with a nova guard for the extra points.

I would like to see armor and/or weapons as ME3 holds a special place for a lot of people, but even portraits or emblems or whatever would be great too.  Any optional content is good content.

The BotB banner should give SOME reward, yes. ( a pack, a unique weapon, xp, an early unlock, anything), but I don't know if I'd like it to carry over.

Hell, I didn't even use it much; 9 out of 10 times I pugged with either the BotB or the Lone Wolf banner, it was like the rest of the team kicked their feeet up and went "let's watch the professional play".

Which is funny, because I"m very much a scrub.

If I were a dedicated MP gamer, I would hate the idea of MP unlocks based on SP play.

Honest question, though: Are there exclusive MP players? I can see - and agree -  that tying SP unlocks;stats to the MP is annoying as hell. But I don't think the opposite would be an issue.

I don't think there are. There isn't really a contingent of MP players who refuse to play SP games purely on principle like I see on this forum. I remember BF4 even had some MP content "gated" behind doing the SP Campaign (3 MP weapon unlocks) and there was no protesting over it that I remember.

While we're on the topic of multiplayer, there really needs to be a playable non-humanoid alien kit for ME:A.

DAMP already gipped us out of playable Mabari, so ME:A needs to pick up the slack. Seriously, DC Online has a dog form for it's shapshifting power set, and I had way more fun with the canine form in that game than I ever did playing the various kits in DAMP.

Double standards irritate me.

And if those MP unlocks based on SP become a thing, devs could use that to justify SP unlocks based on MP (which we already saw in ME3).

And DAI, albeit to a much more limited extent. I think they're inevitable, but I hope I'm wrong.

Seeing as I'm a SP supremacist who nevertheless really enjoyed the ME3MP, I have no problem with that particular double standard. There's zero downside to having SP unlocking content in MP, whereas there can be very real barriers to participating in MP beyond a general distaste for multiplayer games. You'd think that ME3 debacle would ensure they never tried such a thing again. You'd think.

I oppose unlockable content generally.  I paid for the whole game; I should get the whole game without having to jump through a bunch of hoops.

They shouldn't be at all concerned about how I enjoy their content.

You don't unlock lvl 30 on your character right away either. And very few games give you the strongest guns at the start.
You know that.

And you really need to play with us.

You do if you use the dev console.

Or, if you don't think that counts (though it clearly does), NWN let us import high level characters into the start of the game as a standard feature. We didn't even need to play those characters first; we could instead start a high-level campaign (which would automatically make the characters high level) and then use that character to play a low-level campaign.

But the dev console, or mod tools (ideally both), would let us unlock all the content.
