lol, Leaving the MW galaxy for Andromeda because "muh choices" matter, only to then render said choices moot with creepy Liara baby fanfiction actually sounds exactly like something Biower would do.

These forums would certainly become very entertaining, at least.

Not to mention the mind-rape theory at the end of ME3.

Great, nice job OP, I am now afraid that this game will be encompassed by those Eiffel 65 Space Elves...

Mind-rape can happen whether we are that character or not. Our Asari companion can be the daughter of Liara for all we know, but if that happens than we know Andromeda took place after ME3 endings.

If the new armor looks that amazing in-game then I won't care what species my protagonist is; they'll never be taking the armor off.

Why cant ME be about the experiences of human ion outer space?  I see nothing wrong in that.

If I don't want to play as a human than I guess I would need to find another game.

Most people play as humans, I guess they're just conserving resources. I would love to play as a turian, but it's not something I lose sleep over. With a new engine, there are a lot they have to take into account for. Adding other races would take a huge chunk of resources.

What other AAA character/choice/story-driven space RPGs that allow the player to choose race, gender, and in this case species available for PC and the consoles are there?

Human master race.

We all know this will always be the projected ideal of the Mass Effect universe.

I don't see why not. It's not like I have dog legs like a Turian and a squid head like an Asari.

Better to relate to us...humans.

Suddenly, I'm suspicious that you are in fact, an octopus.

True enough, but imo, that reality should not influence bioware's choice to create a game about the human expe rience in space.
Having said that, I wouldnt object to having a choice of spe ies, unless it required so many resources the overall experience of the game was impacted

Yeah, I was about to second guess before posting my comment in case there was some people out there who weren't human playing Mass Effect.

Now I agree with Hanako, damn the humans! I'm sensing xenophobia right about now.

So long as the protagonist is human and nothing like the Inquisitor I'll be happy.

Well, business-wise that reality should have them at least consider it, since the aliens they made are well-loved by the fans who have asked this for years and would attract new fans because no other game allows that. Besides, one of the things that kept getting tapped in the games are how universal "human nature" is so many of the themes would still be able to be used, just being less human-centric.

At least you're open to it, unlike some of the others.

The Inquisitor is Bioware's best protagonist to date. Much better than their human-only protagonists like Hawke and Shepard.

I thought they were good.
The less our background is predetermined and referenced, the better in my opinion.

Hardly

The Inquisitor is hilariously boring throughout the game up until the Trespasser DLC. More races means more Neutral, monotone dialogue and th as t would be terrible. Compared to the Inquisitor, Shepard feels like a real person with a range of emotion which I like, even Hawke from DA2 was better at expressing his/her self better than the Inquisitor

So a singular story is much better imo.

It would be cool if they was a bit more like Hawke, I love the sarcastic Hawke. If people think Shepard was bland, the Inquisitor needs like a bag of salt to wash away all the blandness of the Inquisitor. I'm just happy that DA is not a trilogy like ME, so we don't have to play as the Inquisitor again, I wouldn't mind the option to kill them like we did Hawke.

Race selection seems like a big waste of resource that not many people use, and it dilute the actual experience playing as a human. Skyrim makes it so obvious that the Dragonborn was a Nord, playing it as other races just don't seem to fit, especially when playing as any other races, the followers scream stuffs like "Skyrim is for the Nords" or "Your kind doesn't belong here". There is no point of it's just aesthetic. I'm saying this as someone who would sacrifice my first born puppy to play as turian. It's a new engine, I would rather they polish a good first game first.

I'd be okay with playing one of the other main organic species of Mass Effect. Not the geth though. I can't relate to the geth. Any network I've ever been a part of has actually caused my intelligence to go down a few notches ...

I never found the Inquisitor boring. They felt like a real person, as much as their more predefined protagonists did.

Shepard may have also felt like a real person, but you know who they didn't feel like? My character. Which is strange since Shepard being 'your character' was one of the selling points about Shepard, and yet Bioware then decided to assume many things about them for you.

Dragon age games I play as elven Mages, in mass effect games I play as space Jesus who happens to look human. I wouldn't mind the option to play as an alien space Jesus but honestly unlike dragon age games mass effect does not give me an urge to play as an alien space Jesus over playing human space Jesus. I'd welcome it as optional but not forced.

Alas, Bioware has confirmed that we will only be able to play as a human in Mass Effect: Andromeda, because they want to tell a very "human" story.  -_-

Thank god.

Theres is hope for the BSN yet.
